Grandy's — Restaurant in Balch Springs

Granny's on hwy 67 and Polk Dallas TX service is terrible, the young girls working the front had attitude, didn't smile or greet anyone , they didn't ask if they could take your order, both just stood there looking at me , and I was looking at them to take my order, so I ask are you ready to take my order, she said yeah, at that point I decided to leave, but I didn't wanna drive 20 - 30 minutes away to Irving to get Grandys at that location, I've been going to 67 and Polk for a long while but stopped going around 2015 I think ,,,it was my work hours why I stopped, one of the girls that fixed my food I could see she was getting my order wrong and I said I can help you with it , she ignored me , I had ordered 6 plates, so I waited until she finished and before my order was put in bags I ask to look at them and I pointed out that 3 plates were wrong, also after I ordered my plates a ups delivery guy came in and the cashier just looked at him and didn't say a word, so the ups guy ask the cashier if anyone was working here that could take his order, the cashier replied, what do you want with a very stank look and attitude, the guy was very upset, he said I want 3 chicken fried steaks only, the girl threw his food in the container and handed it to him, he ask can I get it in a bag , she gave him the bag so he could put his food in it himself, then he asked were is the rest , the cashier said what else you need, he replied, I'm I suppose to eat with my fingers and can I get honey and napkins, he walked away saying stupid azz motherxxx, that happened while I was watching that girl fix my plates wrong, I spoke with the cashier and asked her why she was in a bad mood, she said I gotta git outta here, I got my cousin baby back here and it's time for me to get off , as I was taking my food to the car , the girl came out the kitchen with a baby in a carrier and placed the baby in a suv, and the hole Time the young man that usually fix the food was standing there not helping, but using the phone, food was good but service is very sh!tty and I will drive 30min away to Elam rd and 635 or 30min away to Irving for Grandys before I go back to 67 and Polk 10min away, I believe it's a family run Grandys and that's why they get away with bad service, if the two girls were my kids they wouldn't work there anymore with attitude like that, it was worse than I said , but the food is good, but not good enough for...

I came at 8am, haven't been to a Grandys in years and remembered they had a breakfast buffet which no longer exists even though the buffet table is still there. So I ordered the Grand Breakfast Meal and a water, while she turned to start putting it in the boxes I asked if I could add the funnel cake sticks and it came to $12.21 Ouch I could've gone to almost any other place and paid way less or picked up a pizza for 6.99 that would last for 3 meals. Anyway I asked for it to go (but was going to eat there to save me from asking for to go containers). She forgot I had asked for water so I reminded her then I went to a booth. I wanted to try the funnel cake sticks first thinking they'd be best hot and noticed there wasn't any icing on the side like was advertised so I had to go ask for that, then I opened the breakfast box and she gave me grape jelly and ketchup (I requested) but realized I also needed butter so I had to go back and ask for that and idk if she was snippy but she said ANYTHING Else? So that was my last trip to the counter. When I finished what I was going to eat there I went to the bathroom which was very clean and had a baby changing table but no mirror and the faucet had light bluish gray hard junk around the base so I assume that's something in the water here in Balch Springs which made me not want to drink my water. 🙄 The store was clean, the bathrooms were clean the food was just okay nothing to write home about but if they had the buffet I could've eaten fresh fruit 😕 Oh well. Food room temp at best and after the customer at counter we were the only ones inside. Spent a fair amount of time with the other customer and was quick to be done with us. So quick that our meal that we made a double didnt get a 2nd roll or a drink . At this point i dont know if it comes with drink or not but seems that a 10.0 plate at Grandy's should. I got Coleslaw and let me say this it was almost gray in places. I shouldve taken photo. It was not good at all. Customer service was good, nothing outstanding. Not a reason we would return unless we were given free dinners ans told that it was guaranteed to have improved by 110%. Its been a long time for us to have eaten at Grandy's, we no longer have one in Wichita Falls and since coming here to the Dallas area we have been wanting to get some Grandy's. I gave that star up there because the store seemd very clean and well lit up. I didnt go to the restooms but had i and they were clean as well i wouldve given 3 stars .1 ,2 or 3 stars on the actual place/cleanliness, then i would say 4 05 stars would scream clean, good vibes and food great.
