La Chapalita Ice Cream — Restaurant in Balch Springs

If you're thinking of trying this place, here is my "YES!" I come for their fresas con crema and there squeezed juices. Mostly, everything in this place is RICO! Except 👎 there elotes. The employees are courteous. Thank you!

Cons: The cups they serve here are very thin. They almost feel like cheap plastic. When I am holding my drink, it starts to spill if I am holding it tight so it won't spill. Never have I ever had to worry about that in other places. Mind you, I am not at all holding the cups tight or anything. I would have thought they would have good quality cups with the booming money this place makes. The reason for my review is that this place has delicious snacks. But I have spilled my drinks in my car multiple times because of their thin plastic cups.

Another Con This place is a bit pricey. For 2 fresas con crema and 3 small/medium juices, I paid $60.00.

EDIT: After 5 years of coming here I'm finally dissatisfied. I got the coconut water which is what I always get ever since day 1 (for 5 years). Today since I was in the area I stopped by and the lady serving us (Maria) was rude to start with and skipped us over. When I ordered my coconut water it had a very bitter, acrid taste and the after taste was even worse. We went back and mentioned it to the lady and she implied we were crazy, and even after she tasted it (and made a face of disgust) told us it was perfectly drinkable lol... we went to the other location and the guy in charge was VERY kind and accommodating compared to the others we had dealt with AND the coconut water there was what I had grown to love the...

i brought my grandkids to La chapulita to get some ice cream, they have 47 plus varieties of flavors to chose from, the grandkids chose the chocolate flavor ice cream in a waffle cone and also in cups for the younger grandkids.I chose to try the Lime sherbet ice cream in a waffle cone, after the first taste i was so amazed at the great flavor, it is the best homemade ice cream I have ever tasted! The store also has ice cream pops and fresh fruit plates , milk shakes, Elotes (corn in a cup Mexican recipe ) aguas de frutas frescas(fresh fruit drinks) & there is quite a variety of item's available to eat on their menu. I would recommend La Chapulita to everyone that is looking for something refreshing to eat or just interested in trying the Best Home made Ice...
