My 1st visit to chili's despite passing them for years
The Frederick chili's was pretty busy but easily could use more business. The busiest activity was in take-out & dmDoor Dash deliveries
I went in because Chili's app gave me a free dessert first my birthday
I saw a picture of the Molten cholesterol cake..it is heavenly
On my app I was also given a free bag of chips + salsa
The chips are made in house..I got a bag of chips so big..I needed 4 cups of salsa. The staff gave me for for free and are wonderful..the salsa a little thin..I prefer chunky
The first lesson of chili's and most restaurants...sign up for their apps and provide your birthday for $5-$25 free food often of your choice
P.S. on the way out..a sign read Branson Miller..managing partner..I bet he is one of the more successful managing partners of Chili's . Managing partner is the new term for general manager of many resptaurant in America..his staff is great..my food was great..next door is Texas Roadhouse..one of the best steak restaurants in america
Update 9/15/2025
I returned 3 days later to try their well-known Fajitas trio. It was flavorful, fresh & i also got chips again for free because I am a rewards member their phenomenal fresh made guacamole
On my way out who walks to our table..the infamous Branson Miller who went through the menu & advised the table on the best Chili's dishes
For dessert we all had the scrumptious Molten chocolate cake 22nd
On the way out tonight..I noticed chili's is holding a fund raiser for St. Jude hospital..you donate $5 / you pop a ballon to win a prize. I won..o.m.g.a mini Molten chocolate cake. Please do not tell my endocrinologist..I ate it on the way home..it was handed to me by MATTHEE DUFFY..who is restaurant manager
He is behind the success of this great Chili's ...likely one of the top chili's in America Next time at the Frederick chili's ask for Brandon or Matt . Plus anytime you need food for a party or abusiness call & ask for Matthew
Update...wednesday 9/17/2925
Sadly I must explain that i embellished the previous update with the cooperation & approval with the help of Branson & to impress matthew.
I asked Branson what would be great to promote..he said the Fajitas trio. I , with Branson approval never tasted the Fajitas trio, but i described it in my review above because of Brandon's description of it. It did sound scrumptious
I told Branson I did want to try something.he suggested a chicken breast fil.."one of customer favorites".
The chicken itself was great filet was good but bland and not my 1st choice..but Branson gave me employee 50% discount. When the food arrived for. Take-out..I was apparently compeded the dinner by Branson. Honestly the chicken was barely worth the $19 employees price I did order the molten chocolate mini cake..absolutely delicious... The full menu appeared expensive and overpriced. No wonder tge Chili's was half full. Few know when you buy through door dash you pay 30% more than menuprices. Thus it is worth to order take-out yourself at Chili's and .most restaurants
Two problems happened there (1) an employee said I was being racist when I said adioss' when I am leaving +.(2) Matthew my have exhibited a little homophobic issues to me that I must prove to be sure
Otherwise chili's only deserves a 2-3 star rating....most of the staff dserves a 5 stsŕ.review
There are many cheaper and better alternative on ...
Read moreI don't know where to begin. From the start I had a great feeling it was going to be a good dining experience. We were greeted by a very friendly Amanda at the bar who shook our hands and all. When seated,(Maybe about a 25 minute wait for our table, which is expected for a Friday night) we loved seeing all the great choices on the menu ,we especially loved the little electronic box we had , something like an Ipad. Finally 20 minutes later here comes our terrible server. Her greeting was "Do you guys know what you want", my drink I previously had at the bar was quite low, the server did not ask me if I needed a refill, it was my friend at the table who asked me. I looked at the server and told her I had a grapefruit Margherita, I was surprised when she looked at me and made a face that she was grossed out by my selection, I was so embarrassed that I found myself uncomfortably explaining to her, my husband, and my friend why I like grapefruit. Anyways, I actually had to ask her what her name was, it started with an L I believe, she never gave us her name. I am in hospitality, and tried my best to make her feel comfortable and help her out a little. There was no hope with her, she messed up our order completely. She did not deliver our food but never even checked on us when the food was initially bought out. It was the person who delivered our food who got stuck with a list of wrong stuff by another servers doing. My husband's sides were totally wrong, my salad was the wrong salad, and by the way, when she made our table side guacamole, she commented that she did not know what she was doing, we practically ended up making it ourselves. It took our correct items a while to come out ,by that time we grabbed a team lead who was passing by,she said she was not a actual manager, but she seemed like one, who was awesome, very apologetic and ended up having to comp our meal. When the server finally showed her face again, no apologies, no smile, instead put the blame on her teammate who initially bought our order out by saying the teammate messed up by forgetting to let the cooks know about what we needed, REALLY. I will say that we loved Mary, Mary would make a great server trainer, she was just very attentive to all the dinners, and even though she was not our actual server, it was her that made us want to give Chill's a second chance. She did not have to do that, she was busy with her own tables, cleaning etc. We will be back because the food is awesome, hopefully the service...
Read moreTwo weeks ago, I was hungry. I ordered a 6 oz steak to be made well done with steamed broccoli and black beans mixed with pico. The food was good until I noticed my steak was pink. I calmly asked the waitress to replace my steak with a fully cooked one. She brought her supervisor over to make sure my request was okay. I was nice about it and the supervisor said my steak would be re-done.
I waited for 10-20 minutes. My steak was not available, so I asked the waitress where it was. (Please note, we came in before the evening rush and I had waited 15 -20 minutes to receive my initial order).
She said she would go and check on it. She never came back, and I waited an additional 20-30 minutes.
Finally, I got hold of the waitress again and asked where my steak was. The waitress yelled at me, saying, "I am doing everything I can, and all I can do is check on it." I told her in a firm, but assertive manner to get her manager.
The manager finds out that my second steak was never cooked. Apparently, the cook did not know that my steak should have been cooked prior to the later customers' meals.
The manager apologizes and tells me that my steak will be cooked. 20-30 minutes later, a new dinner plate appears with a well-done steak.
I told the manager all that I have been through with my waitress. I told him that I worked in customer service for 10 years and that I am a nurse as well. I know how a customer should be treated, and that is was unacceptable.
Furthermore, I told him I would not be tipping the waitress since she did not do her job. I also told him that I deserved to have my meal for free since they messed it up and wasted my time. He gave me the meal for free and apologized again.
I thanked him and left.
I understand screw-ups and I rarely complain, but this was ridiculous. Had the waitress listened to me the first time, we would not have had all this drama. There was a communication breakdown to say the least. No one should have to wait 60+ minutes for their order to be redone.
I like their food, but I cannot recommend anyone eat here due to the poor service I received. Enter at your own risk.
Sadly, I will not be coming back to this...
