First time trying and my wife (she is Peruvian) was excited to try and got our food and drinks to go. Staff was friendly and very quick for great quality food. Gave us a mountain of condiments that were delicious! I even enjoyed the "eco friendly" containers as we did orderer a lot of food. Surprised and disappointed not to to see any cancha in anything!
The only condiments I didn’t care for was the ahi verde which was not very hot and tasted more like a mix of herbs or something that I could not put my finger on. The redish sauce was probably an aji panca and was incredible! It was smooth and weirdly smokey and I could probably put it on anything and enjoy it
Roasted choclo was awesome but did not understand the salsa that came with it and kinda stunk it up and would probably be better with queso fresco isntead. huancaina sauce seemed buttery and certainly different than I was used to yet still very enjoyable.
The lomo saltado was sadly bad for me. Needed more juice and the juice seemed unusual and sweeter and maybe had balsamic vinaigrette. Would preferred my steak more charred and medium rare inside. They successfully didnt overcook the vegetables but I felt I did not get enough of them.
Jalea was great but wish the yucca was a little more crispy (however I did get it to go and understand it probably got a little soggy). Salsa was excellent on it. However, I wish their octopus was bigger, more shrimp and I see lots of less reputable places also include shellfish as well which would certainly be nice to see. I was very confused with the cup of black sauce that came with it. It was some sort of balsamic vinegar based sauce that I just did not understand personally and was just annoyed to even see it next to the food.
Wife was most excited about aji de gallina but she did not like it because of how the chicken was prepared and it being too spicy for her. I got a couple bites of gristle or something out of it as well, but still personally enjoyed it.
We also go Sangria to go which was delicious but would have been happy to buy another shot of pisco to make it stronger.
What surprised me the most was the Purple Corn Cream Ale beer that I got to go. I honestly figured it would be horrible but I am sitting here writing this review still drinking it and loving it. The beer is incredible and almost a dessert like chicha. Sweet in velvety smooth and very impressed.
The chicken and cilantro rice was a winner for both of us and had no complaints. Excellent, however, my wife did not appreciate the salsa on the rice.
I certainly plan to go back soon and probably try another 4 or 5 dinner items to see if I give a higher review. I would personally like to try the anticuchos and some ceviche and their ice creams. They have Lucuma ice cream and I am curious if they...
Read moreI don’t give reviews normally unless the service, food, and whole experience is just BAD. I always tip well, and make it s point to try a place even when I’ve seen bad reviews. However, my family and I regret coming to eat here and the reviews I read on Facebook are true. It took us nearly 25-30 minutes to get water after we were seated. When we ordered drinks I asked for a Margarita with patron, and was told I couldn’t get that because the margaritas were premixed. I was thinking WHY!? There is a bar w/ a bar tender they can make it, right? So I ordered a Sangria. I received a Sangria before my 9 year old got a water. I had to ask again to get waters. Once I tasted my Sangria it was awful and noticed it had canned fruit Cocktail in it. I ordered another drink that took forever and my husband alerted me to the fact that it was taking so long because the waitress was going over and making the drinks at the bar because there wasn’t s bar tender.
The menu is messy and overloaded with food options and when we went to order were told there was no Peruvian Chicken available. I ordered Pollo de crema and my husband ordered a chicken, potatoes, and plantain dish, my son chicken nuggets and French fries. The pollo de crema tasted watered down and like canned mushroom soup was used for it. My husbands food bland and poorly cooked. It’s hard to mess up chicken nuggets and French fries but they did. The chicken tasted like fish fry batter was used on it and the fries tasted like they had stale freezer burn.
The waitress was short with us and unqualified and when we went to ask for our check she passed by and lipped something without stopping and then came back with a $90.00 check. It’s one thing to have bad service but BAD food we barely nibbled on and was tasted horribly and cooked bad for $90 is HORRIBLE! There wasn’t one thing we enjoyed about this place, AT ALL!
Suggestion to the owner: narrow down your menu to key select food items you are great at making. That way you can make GREAT food that outweighs bad service, and makes people want to return for hour food. You have way too many options and most of them taste bad and are cooked poorly.
Second, Hire some staff and a bartender. The drinks will bring the people there too. I saw you advertised the new bar when you moved but you have unqualified waitresses making drinks that taste bad and pulling them from providing quality service. I’m not sure how you’re still open. Bad all around, hope you all make some improvements. However we won’t be back to taste or see them. We will...
Read moreCome here after ski trip in a Saturday evening. Almost didn't find it as they moved couple stores down the road which is not what Google map showed. The place was busy, especially after we finished dining. From Google review, we wanted to try the Tasting Kabobs. Then we asked the waitress to give us recommendations. She recommend the wok Lomo Saltado and Peruvian Parrillada. The Lomo Saltado is pan fried beef with french fries, white rice and three slice of tomato and couple pieces of sweet onion with sauce. The sauce taste is ok. The beef is ok as well, not too chewy but not tender either. What makes us not too thrilled is her recommendation of Parrillada, which is basically another version of tasting kabobs. Both dish has shrimp kabobs and beef kabobs. The only difference is one dish is chicken kabobs and another is 1/2 Chicken de-boned by hand marinated and grilled. The taste of the two are very similar. We made very clear we want to try different things and I would think that the waitress would know the dish she recommended is very similar to the one we decided to order. Plus with 2 adults 2 young kids, the shared for two dish she recommended are way too much. The shrimp kabobs were very good, tender and juice. The steak kabobs are dry, I didn't even finish one piece. My husband said it is ok if dipping into their special sauce. Overall, the food is ok, but after eating so many kabobs, not sure I will go back again. Oh, mu husband also like their...
