Kudos to hubby for finding this little cafe off of Fort Ave. The took us past the location, but no worries, we just turned around and lucky enough, we found a parking spot only a few steps away.

Koba Cafe is nestled on the corner of Fort Ave and Webster St. Upon entry, we were greeted right away. Hubby was asked to wear a mask while inside, and he obliged. He ordered us the Breakfast Burrito, and coffee for himself and I had the Ginger Citrus herbal tea w/ honey

We sat toward the back where we can look at great artwork by local artists. We waited until our burritos were prepared, and looked at the decor and art and looked up other activities to get into for that day.

They brought our burritos to our table. The breakfast burritos were stuffed with bacon, sausage, eggs, spinach, cheese, and salsa. And I must say, hats off to the chef, and looks like I need to ask for the recipe and get me a grill for sandwiches. The salsa had the right amount of heat, and the flavors were impeccable.

I've been to many coffee shops in Baltimore to study and work, and I always end up coming back here. Its the best and I feel comfortable and at home. Adam (who I think is the manager/owner) is truly the kindest soul and always say hello and remembers your name and your order. The baristas and staff work hard and care about providing quality service and just being nice and welcoming. Other coffee shops the staff is dull and stone-faced. These little things make a difference in the experience of working and spending time in a place.

The prices are also reasonable and not inflated like many other coffee shops in the area. Here I will spend no more than $8-$15 for coffee and lunch, whereas in other spots its not unusual to spend $25-$30 for the same. Again, it makes all the difference.

This place is super cozy with an awesome upstairs study/work area. The staff is also very friendly and kind. We ordered two oat milk lattes that were very pretty and came in actual mugs. They tasted oddly like coconut so I’m not sure if there was a coconut binding agent in the oat milk or if the steamer cup wasn’t fully washed (just a note for the coconut sensitive people). There also weren’t many vegan or dairy free options when it came to the baked goods in the case but they did look lovely. We did call beforehand and were told they are not dog friendly despite another review saying they were? So maybe not dog...

I stopped here to grab a latte and breakfast before an event. Very welcoming feeling when I walked in. They offer a variety of drinks and breakfast sandwiches. I had a Latte w/Irish cream I thought it tasted like watered down; like hot water and milk with flavor. My son has the Mocha freeze and croissant egg and cheese. He said the freeze was ok but loved the sandwich. I went here because it was noted as one of the top coffee places in Baltimore, MD. It’s possible that their drip coffee is awesome, I didn’t get that. But I did see a lot of local customers buying the drip coffee in waves.

Koba Cafe may very well be my favorite place in Baltimore City. When I first moved to Baltimore (over a year ago now) I was looking for friendly, open place to enjoy a coffee and get work done over the weekend. Words can hardly describe how quickly I fell in love with the staff, atmosphere, and smoothies at Koba Cafe. Whether you are looking for a bright place to enjoy a drink with a friend, or trying to find a unique art piece to hang in your home... Koba Cafe has it all and more. I highly recommend checking it out, and returning to check it out again and again!
