I cannot say enough positive things about Angie and the staff at Charm City Healing. My issue is chronic low back pain from a water skiing injury 20 years ago, in my 30's. MRI reveals bulging discs at L3-L4 and L4-L5, L5-S1 thinning, foramen and central canal stenosis and spondylolisthesis (all the usual!). I'm on a regimen of continuous rehab as I'm still very active in a number of sports (tennis, running, cycling, swimming, hiking, among others). Okay, that's my background. Now Angie.

I came into CCA in March in extreme LBP from a strenuous move from California to Baltimore. I totally torqued it. SO glad I found Angie. She went right to work with her magic hands and needles. Within a month of 2x/week sessions, I was off the narcotics and using only Tylenol to manage the pain. Activities we're limited while my body healed. Things kept improving. Along with her referral to Healthquest for chiropractic care, her work, my work and time, I am now pain free and back on the courts and running paths. I am going about once/month for maintenance and minor injuries here and there.

Besides my testimonial, I want to add that Angie really knows her craft. She's a great listener and explainer. I was fairly new to accupuncture; I had only a few sessions with another practitioner in CA, so not a lot to compare to accupuncturist-wise. Frankly, I've always been a bit sceptical of the whole deal. Or maybe I've just been holding out until I really needed it. Man, did I need it in March, cuz I was hurting. Oh yes, I also had fairly intense anxiety about my injury, new home/city, and new job. Accupuncture helped that tremendously also. Despite covid-19, my wife and I have settled in nicely here.

Finally, the business is run really well. Welcoming entrance, tidy exam rooms, comfortable tables, soothing music and sound machines. She's online so easy to schedule and never a billing issue (takes insurance). I'm hoping not to have a relapse, but even if I do, I know I will be taken care of and will get through it. Honestly, I’ve had many people recommend acupuncture to me over the years but I didn’t see how getting poked with some needles could do that much for my health to make it worth it…fast forward to now, it feels like the puzzle piece I was missing all along.

In the past I had terrible allergies that caused me to get repeated sinus infections. Doctors had me on 3 types of allergy meds. I am now down to 1 supplement as needed. My cycle symptoms are incredibly mild. I used to get monthly migraines, cramps, mood swings - those are gone. My energy levels are noticeably up. My acid reflux is completely gone. My cystic hormonal acne I’ve had since 2005 has cleared up for the first time. The proof is in the pudding!

I joke with my husband that I can’t wait until my next appointment because it’s the only place I feel understood - but it’s mostly true. In addition to physical ailments, Angie also always takes the time to ask me how I am and talk through anything I'm struggling with mentally. She's truly an acupuncturist and therapist all in one.

Additionally, the rest of the Charm City Healing staff - Beth, Cierra, and Gaby - are also wonderful. They're each so friendly, warm, and welcoming. I can't tell you how nice it is to come into Charm City Healing and be greeted by my first name, asked how I am, etc. I'm not a number here - I am known, and it makes me feel valued!
