This was a very disappointing experience. My 2 friends and myself went here for a late birthday celebration as they were not able to see me on the day of my birthday. We wanted to do something quick and have a few drinks so we did the endless shrimp. From the time I entered the experience was sub par at best.
The host table was surrounded by at least 4 people and it appeared 2 were off the clock and 2 were working. The conversations being held at the front desk by the 2 "off clock" employees should not be done in a public setting while customers are present. They were talking about their pursuit of "boys" and whether or not they were off the market. I would like to applaud the other 2 hosts as they were trying to maintain a standard and at one time they asked for the 2 other employees to move away from the stand. This is when one of the off clock employees shifted to the other side of the other employee but remained front and center.
Cleanliness - We reached the table which was not cleaned appropriately and made me question if we should remain or leave. I elected to stay as my friends drove up for this event.
Service - The service started off strong but quickly faded after we got our first shrimp order and drinks. In fact, i did not even have my drink ordered prior to the waitress disappearing for some time. Upon her return I ordered my drink and began to order additional shrimp as my entire plate and salad were gone. She then said i could only order 1 at a time, this is fine if i was not sitting there without food or a drink currently.
Food Quality - Simply terrible - The shrimp scampi had texture similar to when you microwave shrimp (rubber) and the butter depletion line showed that it was prepped and then reheated. The Nashville hot was a joke. It has some sticky syrup and then powder sprinkled on top. I am assuming this should have been tossed in a bowl and spun to ensure some level of consistent coating.
On a positive note - The pumpkin white Russian...
Read moreI am editing this from 5 stars to 2. I promised my girl I would take her back to Red Lobster. I thought of asking for a discount, which I did not do last time. I called and asked if they gave a veteran's discount. I was told NO. Every sit down restaurant I have been to like the Red Lobster offers veterans discounts. I guess not Red Lobster. Not happy that they don't think enough of veterans to even give a small discount. I thought about it and it seems that this total refusal to honor veterans like other places do is pretty petty. I mean, come on! I spent almost $50 on a meal and they could not even give a small discount that maybe would have equaled a couple soft drinks??? Fountain pops cost a restaurant pennies, so I guess Red Lobster doesn't want to miss out on that big loss to give veterans a discount equal to the retail cost of a couple sodas. They might miss out on those few cents. Sad Anyways, we gave the waitress a generous tip because she was outstanding. But it will be the last time I go to Red Lobster, and I am making sure I let my veteran's group know just how much they...
Read moreI felt so welcome at the Red Lobster in Bay City Michigan I've been there many times throughout my life for several years but this day was totally different there was a different atmosphere the supervisor treated me like I was part of the family as well as the waitress that waited on my table she helped me find the right seat, the right spot that fit my picky requirements she then talked me through the dishes,I was very impressed with the first dish i ordered, as always, the flavored garlic with oil & butter with very large shrimp in a small dish, but when you are always welcomed at any "Red Lobster" with a warm embrace, the food actually tends to taste much much better, The second main dish i ordered was, "Wally's Shrimp", breaded with one of there many secret recipes, and i never forget a small dish bit of tarter sauce on the side,, My third main dish, was a 7' 0z "Rock Lobster tail", cooked to order, i like mine grilled and yet tender, added to my setting was a small dish of butter garlic & oil,, for dipping,, I left with a full tummy and a smile...
