Reviewed this place four years ago. I'm living in the area now, decided to update.
Walked in, kinda crowded, smells fantastic. Staff dress code and demeanor have both improved to an extent; I'd previously noted uncertainties about staff spitting in the food because they all had an attitude problem, but they all act kinda dead. Kinda understand, though. If I had to endure this radio for more than 30 minutes, I'd probably only perk up when my shift ended. Speaking of which, I remember the utterly insufferable radio being quieter, so that's a huge mood killer. Mental note taken: exclusively takeout for me from here on out. It's an appetite killer when I have to listen to someone whining and crying into a microphone.
Funny enough, during my visit today, along came a song with no moaning for the first twenty seconds, and they skipped it. It complemented the decor and atmosphere splendidly, so you KNOW these guys don't want the place to be especially nice.
I'd seen another review or two mentioning that this place has the "best ramen in the area," and while it isn't BAD... this sets a lower bar than most areas do. The broth is fine - not exactly finished with any oils, it's kinda just stock - but the noodles clearly come from a plastic packaging. The consistency isn't right, but there are also chunks where they aren't even loosened, so you know the folks in the back just pumped it out ASAP.
If I have anything nice to say aside from "the atmosphere is good if the radio is corrected or turned off," it'd have to be the waiter. I tend to drink a hefty amount of water with meals, and he managed to keep up with it pretty nicely. He seemed pretty dead like everyone else at first, but he randomly perked up at one point. Dunno what that was about. Maybe that twenty seconds of hope on the radio did it. lol
All in all, yeah, this is about on par with my last visit four years ago. Employees are less unnerving and more just enduring for the paycheck, but the radio's appalling lack of taste has only...

Let me just start with the inside of the resturant and our server were both great. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about our sushi questions, and the place was clean. That's the only 2 things about this place that were good.
The young lady behind the front desk At the register didn't even look up from her phone to acknowledge us when we came in. She was to busy on her phone.
The food was disgusting!! We were excited to try real and AUTHENTIC sushi and ramen and it was sooo bad!! I mean I puked!!
The sushi rice was gross texture, and the ramen bowls we ordered came with artificial crab sticks that smelled like the nastiest fishy smell I couldn't even finish my food. The only thing we got that tasted good was our lemonade and water and our pork pot stickers.
Now, I am a very polite person, we didn't complain to the nice waiter we paid our bill we tipped and we left, and we vowed to not come back...
On Our 2 hr ride home from bay city I got severe stomach pains and felt like I had food poisoning..
When I called to complain to the manager the next Day and mostly just to tell them that i feel like i got sick from their food and to voice how disappointed I was after spending more than $50.00 at their resturant and really hating their food.. we don't eat out very often because it's so expensive and when we do it's a treat.
Well when I did get the manager on the phone, all i got was that the ramen noodles come from a bag, along with many of their items and no one else has called to complain so I must have ate something else that made me sick & that they cook everything to order but nothing is really cooked its all frozen and from bags.. how is that AUTHENTIC Asian food.. Ew!!
Gross & not...
Read moreOMG, the food was wonderful! My fiance and I had never been to this place, but we have been to every Asian restaurant in Midland, and none have anything on Blossoms Asian Bistro of Bay City. We had 2 orders of crab meat and cheese, and even with my trouble of eating Asian food usually, when I bit into the first one, it melted in my mouth and sat on my tongue with a very pleasurable taste. Before that, I had wontons and egg drop soup.. it was the perfect temperature as to not burn my mouth as other Asian restaurants make theirs. Even my fiance, who doesn't like egg drop soup, said it was very tasty. The fried rice and sweet and sour chicken were just as good. The staff of mostly women was a very welcoming feeling, and Cristy was a very friendly server whose attitude and attention to detail was above board. The most important factor for this guy, who really doesn't like Asian cuisine, is that I left full.. and still full after hours later.. Definitely a place to go when needing a quiet place to take a loved one or by yourself for a...
