Came to Geaghans on St. Patrick's day for an awesome Irish pub experience on their day, however was completely let down!! First of all I understand mistakes happen but the mistake was the least of the problems but still a problem. It started off essentially being sat out in an outcast room away from the actual restaurant. Then we ordered beers and a strawberry margarita with some Irish shots, helping out the waitress with the shot liquors. When the beer and margarita showed up they were in a plastic solo cups like we were at a tailgate party, or a back yard barbeque not a pub! At the time of ordering beers we also ordered appetizers so we could start eating as we planned on having some drinks in celebration. The margarita was terrible, very sour. As we waited for the appetizers we ordered our main courses and drank our beer waiting for the shots to arrive. The shots ordered were to be layered making then look as good as they sounded. Well the shots arrived in a kindergarten plastic cup they used for finger paints and the shots looked like finger paints when they're done cause they were not layered but brown!! Well our main course showed up before the appetizers! When questioned they where never put in thus the mistake which happens. But it took a talk with the Manger to get things redone so the appetizers would come out before we got our main course. When they took away the old main courses and we finally got our appetizers and eventually our new hot main courses the food was good. Then we got the bill, we still ended up paying for the appetizers which I though was terrible cause they messed that up, not us. But the whole experience of bring in a real pub drinking beer and mixed drinks and shots out of plastic cups is extremely poor on what is your advertised day of celebration!! Needless to say going to a restaurant established in 1975 that can't handle big heavy traffic days after almost 50 years in business is completely...

We came here because we had Geaghan’s beer at a restaurant in Boothbay Harbor and loved it. Reservations are required due to COVID. The Pub is located inside the Fireside Inn. That usually makes me nervous but it seems quite a few restaurants in Bangor are in hotels. The owner greeted us in the parking lot (he was surprised too) and directed us to the area where we should park. There is indoor and outdoor seating and we chose indoor. It is a dark, haphazard setup with booths and random tables scattered around. Not terribly inviting. Our service was very enthusiastic and a bit over the top. She was either all over us or simply disappeared. The beer did not disappoint! We had the Fluid Thoughts New England IPA, Hop Harvest IPA, and a Brown. We ended up buying cans of each … so good! The food was average. We ordered the pub fries as an appetizer for $7.59. Well, the side of fries that came with the meals was about the same size. So the price for the appetizer is totally out of range. The fries were thick cut and nothing special. The shepherd’s pie was so-so. It didn’t have much flavor, and the mashed potatoes were dry and placed on top with an ice cream scoop like an after thought. The Angry Irishman melt was pretty good as were the Smoked Wings. The best dish however, was the Chili. It was thick and spiced perfectly. Would return for the beer but the food and atmosphere...

Upon our recent visit to Bangor, we decided to try a new dining experience. Our family travels a lot and is fond of trying new places to eat. This dining experience was very unpleasant, to say the least. The waitress, her name started with K and ended with an N, Since this is the internet, I will not publish her name, was very rude, and she clearly had some issues she needs to work out. She took our order, brought our order and then pretty much just brought our check, there was no communication in between. The food could use some improvement as well. My burger was dry and overcooked and tasted too much like Burger King. I ended up getting sick later on that afternoon from it. My husband had ordered a chicken Cessar salad, which was brought out to him 20 minutes later and slammed on the table as she walked away, with no dressing, by the same rude waitress as before. The waitress stated that it did not come with dressing. What Ceasar salad does not come with dressing?? The lettuce was wilted and tasted awful. She also did fill up our water glasses but ignored our 7 year old son's half empty glass when she was refilling them. We did address these issues with the manager, but I felt that a review of the establishment was necessary on here as well, so others do not fall into the same trap we did. We will not be back to...

Passing through town, on a road trip, and hubby was wanting to stop at an Irish pub. How great it turned out to be a brewery too. It's actually attached to a hotel, but we didn't spend the night. The service was great, they were really busy, but Kathy took good care of us, keeping up with our banter and requests as she walked by. Beer was good, but so far we haven't been impressed with craft brews in Maine, it must be the water (sorry guys, nothing against you, best beers are in PA). Having said that hubby enjoyed his stout, and I enjoyed the amber. The food was good with large sized portions. We had the tuna melt and pastrami sandwich with fries. Sandwiches were packed and fries were homemade fresh (just add salt). Loved the ambience and all the memorabilia....and good for you to stand by your beliefs. If we come through town again, we'll be sure to stop by.

We were here a a few years ago and was pretty happy , but today not so much.. it may have been because we came In about 40 minutes before they close, I was very disappointed with the angry Irishman meat had a lot of grizzle in the beef and only two jalapeños, bacon was very soggy and under cooked , bread was not toasted much and became overly soggy. My onion rings must have been done before everything else because they were cold..Beer was good and the wife said her pastrami was good. Probably will try it again. Don’t really like giving bad reviews but gotta call them the way I see them..

Absolutely loved our visit to Geaghan’s! The food was delicious—fresh, flavorful, and served hot. Service was just as impressive: friendly, fast, and genuinely welcoming. The atmosphere was lively but still comfortable, with that perfect local charm you hope to find in a pub and brewery. You can tell this place takes pride in both the experience and the quality of what they offer. We had no wait for a table and felt well taken care of from start to finish. Highly recommend if you’re in the area—can’t wait to come back!
