Miguel's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Bangor

EDIT original review (one star) below Tonight we decided to try again. We had a pleasant experience. The food was amazing! We sat at the bar, bartender was friendly, efficient and attentive to all patrons. We didn’t wait super long for food. Hoping next time will be just as pleasant.

I LOVE this restaurant. I have never had a bad experience until today. We got there a little before 4, the place was dead as it’s an odd time to go out and eat. We waited 10 minutes before we got any service, after we got our drinks and our are order in we were never even looked at again! Mind you we are at a booth right in the bar area. We asked if we could have another drink as she rushed by us and she proceeded to clean up and make someone else a drink. Over 45 minutes and our food was not even out yet. When we asked for the bill and said we were leaving she yelled at us because he was mad and said “this is a family restaurant so how about you watch your language and don’t come back” as you look over and the teenager waiting tables had her a** cheeks literally hanging out of her shorts!!!!!!!!!! I am so unbelievably disappointed in this restaurant, I’m sad...

Went today with a friend for lunch. Server seemed really personable at first. Never asked us how our food was-which i wasnt impressed with and my friend barely touched her plate (like ate a quarter of a taco and half the rice) because it didn't taste right. When he finally came back real quick he only asked how to split the check and grabbed both our plates. didn't comment on how her plate was practically untouched or how neither of us looked satisfied (we were both laughing and having a great time prior to the food). then he seated someone by us and they commented on how busy he was and said they could sit elsewhere since he looked "in the weeds" but he said he wanted the table and that he could handle it. that's a server unintetested in making sure his customers are comfortable and satisfied just wanting the tables for tips. Not even ten minutes after leaving, my stomach nearly exploded. I don't know what they fed us, but it was terrible. i eat a steady diet of spicy foods, so that wasn't the issue. This place has good food and is definitely worth the trip to give it a try. I have eaten here many times. The menu here is far better and higher class than most of the cheap style Mexican restaurants. The 4 star rather than a 5 start rating is based on what I would say is an unfortunate policy of discriminating against mobile orders compared to dining in. Full disclosure, they waived the charge for me this one time, thanks or it would have been 2-star. So it's a small thing, but I love my chips and salsa. If you dine in you get one serving of chips and salsa for free. If you order the exact same thing mobile then it's an upcharger of $4. Okay, again I understand it's a small thing but if I want to take it to go rather than sit in the restaurant, at least let it be the same pricing structure.
