My wife and I have been wanting to come here since it was opened and today was the day. We thought the inside was very nice and the service was pretty good but the food below par for BBQ and food period.
We don’t like to complain but we frequent any BBQ place local and traveling and this is the worst. We got the mountain man feast and split between us both. The pulled pork was pretty spot on and good, the brisket was ok but the ribs we had were good enough to kill someone or give them food poisoning. They were so tough we had to ask for a knife and when they brought us the knife we soon found out why. The ribs were raw and bloody.
We notified the waitress and asked her to please tell the chef about this immediately so no one got food poisoning or killed and watched her all the way and nothing. She offered to take it off our bill which we told her we weee fine and would take it home and cook ourselves and our only concern was that they knew to prevent anyone from food poisoning or being killed. Again didn’t see her notify anyone. Before we left my wife told her again and still not sure if this was relayed. With this said I tipped her well.
Like I’ve mentioned before we frequent any BBQ place you can think of both local and traveling. I’ve never been to any place where the ribs were so tough I had to cut them with a knife only to find out it’s bloody raw and most places are so tender they pull apart with your hands or fall off the bone.
Im not sure if anyone reading this has ever had food poisoning or not either but I have and it’s the sickest I’ve ever been in my life. I can tell you from experience it’s not something you ever want to go through and when it happened I actually thought there was a chance I wouldn’t make it. Deathly sick.
The pictures won’t do it justice and we tried to be a little discreet but what ribs are so tough you need a knife to cut and what ones have blood oozing out ? We didn’t even think about eating this. We will never come back here. One and done for this family. You can ignore this and that’s fine but you’ll be out of business in no time if you don’t change or...
Read moreI had pretty high hopes when my wife told me she saw their page on Facebook. The parking lot is small and weird shaped but fortunately there is plenty of wide open parking on the mall side of the road. For some people, walking across from the mall may be inconvenient but not inaccessible…especially during peak mall shopping. The restaurant itself was very clean and it seems like with the concert stage it would make it a fun place during a show.
We were greeted and seated promptly and our appetizer of Fried Green Maters was delicious and hot. Our entrees fell short…way short. My wife ordered the Brisket Melt Sandwich and a side of mac and cheese and I ordered the Smokehouse Trio with jalapeño sausage, brisket and pulled pork with greens and potato salad. First, everything except the sausage and greens hit the table cold. We didn’t say anything, we just ate our meal. It’s nothing new for us to eat leftover bbq cold anyway so it wasn’t something deserving of a complaint. I only mention it because it seems to be a recurring complaint after reading other reviews. The greens and sausage were the only things that had flavor. Don’t get me wrong, the meats had smoke flavor but I needed to cover it all in bbq sauce to taste anything else. The potato salad had no flavor at all, really, other than the taste of plain potatoes in a watery sauce. The mac and cheese was pretty flavorless too..my wife ended up even putting BBQ sauce on it. I know some people enjoy the taste of bland food but we’re not those people…and you can’t please everybody.
Please don’t misunderstand…This isn’t a case of a disgruntled customer or anything like that. It just wasn’t a meal that did the trick for our taste buds. Nothing we ordered made us say “we need to come back for this”. There was really no “WOW!” factor.
If we do decide to come back another time I’d just try something else completely. The burgers that were delivered to tables around us looked delicious and portion sizes were reasonable. The service was pretty good and like I said, the...
Read moreOur family likes to frequent barbecue restaurants as well. When we got out of the car and were walking in the front door, I told my husband that it smelled like sewer, poop if you will. Then we asked all the right questions, but apparently we ignored the red flags. I asked what the waitress’s favorite thing was and she told me the loaded fries with pulled pork. I find that odd to say french fries due to the fact that we were at a barbecue place. Then my husband asked if the sausage was smoked, Nope, it wasn’t smoked. We got the duo which consisted of your choice of two meats, we each got one slice of brisket and it had zero flavor It definitely was not smoked. I also asked if the baked beans had brisket in them, nope, But I still ordered them and they tasted literally like a can of bushes baked beans. I’m pretty sure the greens are straight from an old glory can. My husband also asked about the potato salad if it was good and our waitress said, “if you like a mustard base.” I’m not really sure all you people that have given this place a good review if you’ve actually eaten at a real barbecue place like the southern states have, but my oh my, this was not even close in comparison. There were just a few tables and the parking lot was nearly empty. Oh and I forgot to mention, the hush puppies tasted like the frozen bag from Walmart. We have laughed and laughed about the food. We literally read no reviews and definitely didn’t trust our instincts when the questions/answers started coming. We took our food home to give our dog but I bet she looks at it and says, “shoot that meat isn’t smoked.” LOL 🤣
Our waitress was sweet and it wasn’t her fault so we still tipped her %20. Don’t waste your time...
