Me and my brother are regulars at this restaurant we visit almost 2 to 3 times a week that's why I am so sad to say we experienced the worst customer service experience we have ever had. At our lunch hour of 1pm we entered the resteraunt and were greeted just fine as we sat down looked over our menu i decided I was not to hungry so I went on to order from the kids menu a chicken teriyaki since it is a smaller portion I figured it would be great to have. Immediately the waitress said I could NOT get this since I am over the ages of 10 yrs old I have never heard anything like this since I am a waitres s myself I knw people order from the kids menu always and it is always given to them regardless of the age. I asked why I couldn't have it she said because I am older then 10 so I asked it I could place an order to go of the kids chicken teriyaki she agreed with a horrible attitude and continued to talk about me to her boyfriend who is also a waiter and had him come tell me again that I could not order from the kids menu. All in all my experience has never been so horrible and it's not fair to me a regular and I will never be returning to this place and will be speaking to the owner about his staff being verry unprofesional and Not...
Read moreWell, I went to this restaurant based on the ratings it received and frankly I am amazed that it could receive 2 stars. First appearance inside was bland decorations that could have been any type of restaurant. Nothing that screams, or even whispers, Japanese. The waitress was very short and unattentive, very to the point with no frills and no smile. The food was extremely bland requiring soy to add a modicum of flavor. I had the $20 Ahi Tuna and asked for it rare with steamed rice. Well I got the obligatory Miso soup and dressed salad first, placed in front of me without a word, then the tuna with fried rice! The tuna was probably half of what you would expect for similarly priced Ahi Tuna in a restaurant and cut into pieces ( probably to make it look more than it was). For a Japanese restaurant, which are usually meticulous about the quality of their fish, I was surprised to find the tuna was very sinuey - not what one would expect. Without asking if I would like a dessert the bill was placed in front of me by a person chatting on their cellphone - please learn manners! All in all not impressed and would probably have opted for Taco Bell (and that's saying something) had I had known then what I know now. Sorry I will...
Read moreI kept hearing about this place and how good it is, but I was ultimately disappointed. I ended up paying $30 for two appetizers and a sushi roll. I got Yakitori ($4.75) which was basically 2 wooden skewers with about 12 1/2"x1/2" cubed chicken pieces, served on a dusting of cabbage, lightly drizzled with soy sauce. Not worth the money. Next was the Oyster Chase appetizer, which is exactly what it sounds like; a shot. Raw quail egg, raw chopped oyster (even though the description suggested a full, fresh oyster), fish "flake" (non-existant), and masago (fish eggs, also non-existant) in a sauce that reminded me of horseradish and A1. Not worth the money. Finally, I got the East & west roll. Eel, avocado, salmon & cream cheese with what appeared to be panko across the top. I got this because I wanted to try eel. Couldn't taste it. The rice was twice as thick as the sushi you can get from Kroger. The roll was supposed to be "torched", but was not visibly heated in any distinguishable way. $14.50... not worth the money. I won't come back here. This is food for people who like to spend money on trendy, unnecessarily expensive meals they can take pictures of and post it on social media. Disappointing...
