The first time I visited this restaurant was a huge disappointment. My son’s soup came out lukewarm, my husband’s mozzarella sticks were served all busted open and it took them two times to get a scrambled egg with the right cheese done. The server was nice but the manager on shift seemed flippant & unapologetic about it all. She made it seem like she’s been dealing with the mistakes all night and gave the excuse that the cook wasn’t the usual guy in the back instead of just apologizing and trying to calm us or correct the mistakes. Honestly, we thought she might’ve been under the influence of drugs or alcohol just by the way she carried herself that night and were very surprised to find that this is the manager who represents the establishment. Her name is Stephanie. We didn’t walk out because we were exhausted from being at Legoland all day and it was the closest place to our hotel. We recently gave it another chance as we have annual passes to the park, we visit quite often. To my surprise, Stephanie is still employed here and she sat us at our table. The waitress was a very nice elderly lady named Vicky. Again, we had problems with the food and the biggest problem was an order of scrambled eggs (well done with American cheese) The first time it came out, the eggs were runny. The second time they came out, the cook took the same eggs and chopped them into crumbles and then added a ton of cheese on top. It was not even edible. I sent it back a third time. The waitress was very apologetic and sympathized with me as the rest of my family were done eating and wanted to leave already. She told me they would recook the eggs and that my order would be taken off the bill. I waited another 7-8 minutes (it was 7 at night and not busy at all) and finally the eggs came out right. I ate a couple bites and asked for the bill. When I got the bill, nothing had been taken off so I asked the waitress. She apologized and said she’d take it to her manager (Stephanie). I overheard her explaining everything to Stephanie who got upset with Vicky and only took a dollar off the total and said that she would take only the eggs off the bill. I saw the dollar discount and asked about why the plate wasn’t comped as promised and Vicky apologized and said she tried but I’d have to speak to Stephanie. When I asked Stephanie, she was very confrontational and aggressive toward me. She said Vicky had no right to promise me any type of discount and then proceeded to get louder and asked me “Did you or did you not eat the eggs?” I explained to her that the point was that she only took a dollar off of my bill and for that, why even discount? She took another 2 dollars off and I was just tired of going back and forth and very embarrassed to be having this discussion with someone who obviously doesn’t value customer service or quality of food at all. At this point I was very upset but did not want to stoop to her level. I was with my five year old and since we were on vacation, I had plenty of cash on me so I just paid the bill. I gave Vicky a generous tip and told her I was sorry she had such a horrible manager. She gave me a very helpless look and apologized again which is what her manager should have done from the start. I vowed to never ever spend another dime in this place when they have a disrespectful and rude manager treat their staff and customers the way they do. Never again! Get rid of Stephanie. I’m sure a random test...
Read morePerkins doesn’t deserve any stars but I had to stamp one in order for my message to post. I went to Perkins 4/4/23 to get a delivery for my customer. I walked in and stood over where you would pick up online orders. A waitress named Hannah who is a slender blonde, was the only person I seen. As I stood there waiting, she’s checking another customer out. So I’m thinking she’ll acknowledge me once she’s finished with him. That didn’t happen. She walks right past me. This actually happened 4 more times where she walks past me and doesn’t say a word to me. From the moment I walked in the door, she never acknowledged me and I’m clearly standing where she sees me. She proceeded to do everything else. I’m looking around to see if someone could actually help me but no one else ever came out. Two ladies walk in a little while later and remind you I’m still standing in the same spot waiting for my customers order and Hannah acknowledges them and goes to seat them and that’s when I said to her so you’re not going to acknowledge me. I’ve been standing here for several minutes. I would like the online order that’s sitting on your counter for my customer. All she says is , oh you’re here for an order. I tell her that she’s unprofessional for not acknowledging me. She tells me that she’ll just go get the manager. Wow!!!!!!! Hannah couldn’t handle a simple task such as just giving me my customers order. That’s all I wanted was my customers order. She storms to the back like the little girl she is and has a temper tantrum. The manager does come out and I explained to her what Hannah did. The manager didn’t seem bothered but gave me the order. It shouldn’t have taken all of that. People need to be held accountable for the things that they do. Hannah was very rude and with horrible customer service skills like that , she doesn’t need to be working...
Read moreWe Went into Perkins this afternoon for dinner and Ordered breakfast. about 15 min AFTER we ordered. the server came to the table and said they were out of bacon that I had ordered. We stated that was fine we just wouldn’t have bacon. Then we waited another 30 min for our food to come. They finally brought the food and My husband had ordered grits with his and was THEN told they were out of grits. he wasn’t given the hash he ordered and the toast I ordered was not there. We were telling the server what was missing from what we ordered and the server started talking about the supply issues. Which we understand but should have been told UP FRONT. The server went to get the manager (we did Not ask to see the manager) who came to the table with an attitude. Raising her voice for all tables to hear. She stated they were doing the best they could and were finding out as they went along that they were out of things. We said we understand that but should have been told what they were out of when we ordered and it would have been different because we could have ordered something else. but after we waited as long as we did only to find out things we ordered were not available was not right.
We come to this Perkins a lot and like the food. And the service. And have never had an issue But today Was horrible Maybe the manager was having a bad day. But she was rude and defensive when she came to the table. She treated us like we were the problem.
We understand there are supply chain issues and that things are tough but that doesn’t give a manager the right to treat customers badly. all we did was order dinner. We were not rude, we didn’t raise our voices and we were not accusatory. And we left...
