My daughter Madeline and I had the great pleasure of seeing the 25th Anniversary of Evangeline the Musical in concert at Manship Theater. The performance was outstanding!! We drove in from Magnolia, Texas to see this amazing show. It was absolutely worth it!! I used to show Evangeline to my Louisiana History students at St. Aloysius. I studied the plight of the Acadian people, but I never truly felt passionate about it until I saw Evangeline the Musical. My daughter and I cried through just about the whole show, except of course for the two comic relief songs. Thank you for Praline and Matthew!! There was even a new song added for this Anniversary show. I knew it was new because I've listened to the soundtrack enough to memorize every line!! The singing was superb, the acting outstanding, the costumes were lovely, the orchestra was just wonderful, the director and conductor did a top notch job. I deeply appreciate all of the effort, time and love that went into this outstanding performance. I wish that everyone with Cajun heritage could have the experience of seeing Evangeline live. I look forward to seeing it again and sharing it with more of my family. Because of this musical, I now own a copy of Longfellow's Evangeline that lives on my dresser and I read it often. The Manship Theater is a really beautiful, well run space. I enjoyed the local art upstairs, and what a great location! The seats were comfortable, and we had a great view even though we were rather high in the balcony. You could bring drinks into the theater. That was nice to be able to drink water and have a holder for the cup. I LOVE that the composer and actors came to visit with us after the show. I am so thankful for the actors and orchestra members who came back to preform after 25 years. They sound and look just as fabulous as ever! The new faces and voices were fantastic too! Thank you Paul Taranto and Jamie Wax for creating this outstanding piece of art that honors our Cajun heritage, our faith, our Blessed Mother, and teaches us that love is truly worth the wait. God bless you!! Wow!! I just can't say enough positive things about our experience. Merci! Aimee Lee Guidry Marlborough

This theater setting is great for small venue type performances. Enjoyed a fantastic concert with Our local John Schneider. This was by far the most enjoyable performance that I’ve been to at this location. The seating is comfortable and it doesn’t matter where you are sitting, the view is superb. The entire evening was very well organized. The theater was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.

I had the pleasure of enjoying the play Safe Space and pleasantly surprised at the drama and humor. The cast did an awesome job in their roles. Real life issues were acted out on this stage. Start checking out Country Roads magazine for events in our area. Manship website as well. This was an all black director, writer and cast!!!!!!

I attended the Glenn Miller Orchestra performance at the theater on February 10, 2025. I grew up listening to my parents Big Band music. The group did not disappoint and the acoustics of the Manship Theater so enhanced this musical experience. It is a small, intimate theater and while we had perfect seats about 6 rows back I really don’t think there would be any undesirable seats in the theater. The parking was a definite downer as they had just installed a new payment system. As we left out and happened to be the first car to attempt to exit the exit gate in the Third Street Parking Garage would not lift. We finally got the Police attendant out of his vehicle and he was able to hold one exit gate up for...

I have been waiting on the Mini musical camp to begin their registration. Finally they were set to open today feb 20th 10.30 am for non members. I kept calling them and it went through(not that the phones had a busy tone) but nobody answered, for until 11am. I decided to drive down and signup but guess what they were full for my kids age group. I don't understand how they take up the registrations but I am very disappointed that I am on a wait list even after trying so hard to be on time. Why isnt there a link to register online?...
