Banana Cabana — Restaurant in Bay Lake

What a difference two years makes. If you look at the reviews back then you will see one after another raving about the wings, which were hands-down the best I've ever had. We went back recently and were so excited. We had all signature dining rez's and Banana Cabana. Unfortunately the menu changed and there were 3 selections of wings, one was similar, so we asked the server and she said that they were not the same as the old wings, but these "Jamaican jerk" were the same, just a little spicier. So I order them and the nachos which we loved. They also no longer have the pull apart rolls which everyone loved. I took one bite of a wing and it burned my mouth to the point I couldn't even taste anything for the rest of the night - and beyond the heat they did not taste or look anything alike. The nachos weren't as good either, not as fresh and most were broken already. Extremely baffled by the fact that any person in charge would ever allow this to happen. How out of touch do you have to be to change this menu? No one could stand the wings, so they were barely touched. Our server didn't charge us and she was very sweet, but what a wasted dinner. I think Disney needs to pay attention to...

We enjoyed the food from here mostly. On our first night of dinner we tried for Mango BBQ grilled Wings and the Jamaican Jerk grilled wings. The mango bbq wings didn’t have enough of a prominent mango flavor for them to be considered mango bbq, they just taste like regular bbq wings but they were grilled nicely. The Jamaican jerk wings were awful. It almost taste like someone dropped the seasoning on the wings and tried to fix it, it was such an intense flavor in not a good way. We also got the Loaded Fries and those were delicious! We almost got them a second time but we wanted to try something new. We also got the coconut pineapple bread pudding for dessert and oh my gosh, I had to get that again the next night cause it was so delicious. So the next night aside from that bread pudding we got the Banana Cabana Burger and the guava buffalo grilled wings and both were good. The burger won it for us! 20/10, that thing was delicious! The guava buffalo wings were very good but again didn’t have enough of a guava flavor to be considered guava buffalo. Overall, would recommend you try. The firework views at dinner time...

We were waiting to go in Sebastian’s Bistro, so grabbed a couple drinks and listened to the guys playing Caribbean music, they were so talented and played 90’s songs but Caribbean style. I had so much fun listening to these well known songs in a different style format. They guys were tucked in a corner by the pool area, the pool area was hopping and noisy but and it was such a busy walkway. I feel like they gave more room over by the water but maybe there is no power there or something.

I got a mojito and husband got a beer. I love mint and mojitos, the mojito was incredible! It had so much fresh mint in it, was not any bottled mix, I watched the bartender make it, he shook it perfectly, it was fresh and light and actually had liquor in it. This is a great bar and fun area to sit and listen to the music. I could’ve sat there for a long time. The theming in this resort it’s top notch!

I will come back here for sure next visit and maybe try the food here then.
