It was okay. It's not resort breakfast by any means. They are set meals. You don't get to have your egg cooked any way you want it. I guess because it's a quick service breakfast. It was like having a complimentary breakfast buffet without actually seeing the buffet. If that makes sense. Only it's not complimentary.
My husband ordered the Primo Piatto Breakfast. Everything was either cold or lukewarm. He did like the mascarpone polenta, but you could tell it was all premade and sitting somewhere on a hot plate ready to be served. I selected the Blueberry-Lemon Pancakes which tasted pretty good. I appreciated the large blueberries inside the pancake. It's served with mascarpone cream. Although, I must be honest. I thought it was whipped butter and never touched it. That's what it looked like on top of the pancakes. It probably would have made a big difference had I really looked at the description on the menu board. Also, they don't serve it with maple syrup. The syrup is at the counter. It's warmed up syrup in a carafe, which is great. I had to ask where it was. Meanwhile, the pancakes were not as warm as when they first brought it out. The bacon is sweet versus savory. If you like a smokier type of bacon, then this is not for you.
I'd say the breakfast is a solid 3 stars in every day life. It's 4 stars if you're comparing it to other quick service restaurants at Disney World. I'm giving it 4 quick service dining stars just because the service was friendly and quick. A cast member actually brings the meal out to your table if you're dining in. They also clean up the tables when you leave. The atmosphere is actually quite nice with lots of natural sunlight flowing through the dining area. We didn't eat lunch or dinner there, and we don't have the Disney dining plan that everyone talks about. The food wasn't as overpriced as other restaurants. Just walk up to the register, after viewing the menu boards, and place your order. It opens at 7 am like every other breakfast/café spot in Disney World. It's seems to make sense in the fantasy world, but not so much in...
Read moreWe did breakfast at Primo Piatto and had a nice experience. The decor, lighting and atmosphere is very welcoming in the morning. I love the big arched windows and the mosaic flooring. It’s a good way to start your day.
It’s your typical newer Disney resort quick service, there is a grab and go section as well as a more full featured menu where you place an order at the kiosks and then they bring your food directly to your seat.
We had three dishes at our table. First up was the Blueberry-Lemon Pancakes. They were thick and quality pancakes with a good amount of blueberries and enough lemon flavoring without being too overpowering.
We also did the Cinnamon Crumble 'French Toast' Bread Pudding. It is worth being very clear, this is absolutely more of a bread pudding than a French toast. The name should be obvious, but I feel like people may get to French Toast and just lock in without reading the rest. It was super tasty. Nice and crispy on the outside with good consistency on the inside. The vanilla bean custard totally negated the need for any syrup.
We also did a kids Mickey Waffle meal, which was exactly what you’d expect at any Disney spot. It was very quickly devoured.
All in all, it’s a nice spot for a quick meal. I look forward to seeing how the menu holds up for lunch or dinner in a...
Read moreWe had high hopes for primo piatto as our last visit was marvelous. It turns out this visit was not as marvelous. Previously I had stated that their bacon cheese burger was one of the best I've ever had. This time I ordered it, just like I did last time, specifying an egg allergy. Sure enough they did make me the burger I ordered , but there were a few issues: No bacon The roll was over toasted. The cheese has little flavor. Last time it was much tastier. Toppings were minimal and tasteless
The burger patty itself was very very good and the fries were also excellent.
The vegetable pita was fine, my dining partner said the vegetables were spicy but fresh, but that the pita also has zero flavor.
They also have a new soda system with special paper cups. You only get 3 soda fills in an hour. That's ok with me, but for those who have already spent potentially $10,000 dollars to be at a Disney Resort this soda-micro-management may appear petty. We are pass holders so while a surprise it did not bother us.
I do think Primo Piatto still is a nice little fast service location but not as effective as it was on our first visit.
If you're staying at the Riviera or at another nearby Disney Resort you may want to eat here, but I would go out of my way to come...
