I try to be as honest as possible when it comes to reviews and I will have to admit, this place is absolutely fantastic. The service, location, pricing, and just the amount of things they offer completely exceeded my expectations.
First off, everyone recommended a margarita from this location. Done! Tbh, I thought the only thing they offered was margaritas, but I was completely wrong. Their drink menu had a front and back side to it. The front provided all the margaritas they offer whether on the rocks or blended. The entire back of the menu had a HUGE selection of tequila shots and samplers. Not to be naive, but who would've thought there was so many varieties of tequilas!
The pricing was very comparable to any other bar. I paid about $11-$13 per drink, which was served in a pretty decent sized cup. When ordering, the bartenders are very charismatic and will definitely give you their personal input if asked. I was going to order a pineapple margarita over ice and the bartender told me "if you order it over ice you're not going to get as much tequila, trust me it's not worth it.". Say no more! He showed me how much more tequila would be in a blended margarita compared the iced version! I said, "just give me whatever will have the most!". Thank goodness I said that because he added another 2 shots of tequila to my drink! Throughout my visit, I tried the Horchata, Pineapple, and Cucumber margarita, which were all delicious. The only margarita I had over ice was the cucumber margarita and it was quite refreshing!
As far as the location goes, it's perfectly placed at the start of the World Showcase if you start at the left hand side. Since I was beyond impatient to try a drink from here, I made it from the front gate of Epcot to La Cava in...
Read moreService ZERO What was supposed to be a magical day turned into a frustrating and upsetting experience. I approached the bar and was initially greeted by two servers, JosĂŠ and Fran. I needed a few minutes to look over the menuâno more than threeâbut once I was ready, they completely ignored me. Despite clearly seeing that I was no longer browsing the menu and just waiting, they served multiple guests who arrived after me. I waited around 10 minutes, feeling increasingly uncomfortable, until I finally had to call someone over to get their attention. Only after a woman (possibly a manager) intervened did Fran come to take my order. When I went to pay, my husband offered his card, but Fran insisted on seeing his IDâeven though the drink was for me and my husband wasnât drinking. I was already frustrated and just wanted to leave. I ended up paying with my phone using the same card through Apple Pay, which made the ID request pointless. To make things worse, I asked for a receipt, and Fran refused to hand it to me, saying the next copy was ours. It felt like unnecessary pushback at every step of the process. Iâve had many wonderful experiences at Disney, but sadly, this was not one of them. I will not be returning to the bar at the Mexico Pavilion, and I hope others have a more respectful and considerate experience...
Read moreMost of the "famous margaritas" don't contain tequila, they are cheaper mezcal drinks and are a far step from the originals. I have been going here for close to 10 years and have made friends with a lot of the staff who are excellent, but the change to the drinks (and price increase) is really not what I expected. After ordering the avocado margarita it tasted completely different then what I have experienced before. It was much sweeter and the mezcal was potent. I asked the server if this was tequila and he said yes, but the menu clearly states mezcal unless you want tequila. The recipe was changed to add fruit juices to make it way too sweet compared to previous versions, in addition to the mezcal. Also the corn chips were changed to another type which was noticeable but not as offensive as the change to all the margaritas. After spending thousands of dollars over the years in this location alone I can't recommend it as a must do anymore, the changes were that drastic. If you want a shot or a flight it's still a place to stop and go, but if you want to sit and enjoy a few margaritas it's a skip and try the choza de margarita out front (run by the same company as la cava del tequila). I hope some of these changes are reversed and tequila is brought back to the tequila...
