Been going to this chili’s since I was a kid and it seems to just keep going downhill year after year. The past couple of times we’ve came here, our issue has been with seating and the new guy that is the host. He has terrible customer service skills and even after a few months, still does not seem to know what he is doing. We’ve been here on extremely busy nights and had good service with decent wait time. Last night was a different story. We came in on a Monday night, were seated at a booth quickly (they were not busy at all). I guess the problem was being seated at a booth near the bar—-which by the way was NOT very busy at all. The bartender was a server and he let it show that he did not want to tend to us whatsoever. We ordered right away, and our orders were VERY simple but he got BOTH of them wrong. He did not say one word when bringing out drinks, appetizers, or plates. Only comment he made was that our food was ready fast (which it was) so he brought it right out after appetizers. Upon getting our plates I saw that my boyfriends 2 sides were wrong and my entree was wrong. I ordered original chicken strips and got their crispy version. He ordered double fries and got corn. I’ve eaten both of the chicken strips from there before, so I did not return them because we did not want to wait for our food to be redone again so we just ate what we were given. However, it would have been nice to be given the OG chicken crispers that were ordered. After getting our food, server-I guess I should say bartender!! Did not check on us AT ALL!! Not once. I went without a drink almost the entire time we were there. Tried to flag him down several times, did not bother to look our way. Need I remind you, the bar was not busy at all. He was instead laughing and hanging with the other servers near the kitchen. I Said “excuse me” very loud as he walked past us once - AGAIN NOT CHECKING ON US! And turned and looked at me then walked away. It wasn’t until another server came out that I was able to ask for a refill. My boyfriend got a drink From the bar and was never asked if he wanted another or anything else to drink for that matter. Towards the very end when we were paying, the bartender came to the table asking if we needed or wanted anything else- AS WE ARE ALREADY PAYING! The ONLY time he checked on us. Worst service I’ve ever experienced. Makes it even worse that this was NOT a busy night and this guy has been working here since I was a kid. If they’re going to assign you tables along with your bar customers, treat them the same way and maybe you’ll get...
Read moreThe menu was so limited it was pitiful I wanted a grilled Caribbean salad but it along with most menu items are no longer available. I settled with their new brisket burger and it lacked any kind of seasoning. The precooked weight was supposed to be 1 lb. but the burger I received was smaller than when I cook 1/2 pound burgers at home. I thought the brisket would be better than regular hamburger but instead it was void of flavor. I didn't complain. I had a gift card for part of the bill but the terminal at the table would not read it. I had to wave down the waitress and she could not get it there also, so she took it to the back and came back a few minutes later. I finished the transaction at the table with the terminal. It just is extremely annoying and always takes longer than it should. It would not give a paper receipt as that is no longer an option unless you get the waitress that is now out of sight to get a copy printed, so I selected the email option.
I left a review positive about every one who we dealt with. Mediocre about the food and poor about the check out process. I left the waitress a decent tip. I saw her ony way out and explained I thought she did a good job but how the company needs to get rid of the self pay terminals and bring back the food that made them great in the 1980s.
A few hours later I checked my email and reading the receipt, the chili was a higher price than the menu. I had had enough. So I called to get it corrected. They took my information from the receipt and put me on hold for 20 minutes. I hung up and called back in. After a few minutes, the manager answered and asked if I was the one calling about the bill in an annoyed voice. She admitted they over charged us and said she was there all night and we could have talked to her, but I tried to explain we had no idea about the bill until I got the email copy. She kept saying, "Well you never talked to me". The real point is, she never went through and talked to anyone for the hour or so we were there. Yes I am upset over a 40 cent difference that really was magnified by how bad their payment system and menu have become. She said that was out of her control blaming a nation wide system outage, but that was not true for us as we were able to finish paying at the table terminal. I told her that felt like I was stolen from and I will probably not go back to this or any Chili's again. For many years we would go two or three times a week. It is sad to see something that was once great go so wrong. Goodbye...
Read moreHilariously incompetent. I don't know why I keep going back to Chili's, but it isn't for the service. My wife and I were seated immediately behind the hostess in the sparsely populated restaurant and waited over 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge our presence. At 15 minutes my wife stood up to get the attention of the hostess, who ended up taking our drink order. Seconds after the hostess left, a server popped up from right behind her to take our drink order, which had clearly (audibly) been taken and we informed her that it had been taken. We instead ordered an appetizer and the server was off to put the order into the system. Several minutes later another server came by to take our order for appetizers, and we informed her to her surprise that it had been taken. We place our order for our entrees. Our drinks arrived and the server cheerfully told us that the straws were in our silverware set. It was present in my wife's set, but not in mine. Thankfully, my wife happened to spot where they kept the straws and just grabbed one.
We get our appetizer and it is, thankfully, correct, my drink running out while enjoying the food. Our entrees (chicken fajitas) arrived shortly afterwards and apparently Chili's has either changed the recipe, or they were out of appropriate fajita seasonings for the chicken. I honestly hope it was the latter. We ask for some extra shredded cheese as the combined amount of what was given to us would, quite literally, only fill up a tablespoon. We waited ten minutes. For cheese. Throughout this ordeal we've had three people coming back and forth to serve us, none truly effective. I finally have to ask for a drink refill since nobody has seen the empty glass at the edge of the table, which comes after another 5-10 minutes. We finish our food and surprisingly one server asks us about dessert, which we promptly order to avoid any further confusion. A second server shows up to clear a few plates and confirms our dessert order. I think at this point they finally figured out who was supposed to be the server for the table. After dessert, the correct server gives us the check. Unwilling to wait for them to pick up my credit card and then take much more time to come back with it, I pay with cash.
The paradise pie...
