01-27-2023 - UPDATED REVIEW: Just don’t! I am disgusted with the quality of my order I received. I ordered my same item, Gluten-free pizza with extra cheese, and was shocked to see the major differences between my past orders at this location in Bear, DE. The staff that was working wasn’t and didn’t seem to care what they were doing or saying. I asked for the manager and the lady snapped at me saying “she left to other store, I’m in charge now.” ughhhh…. That tells me NEVER AGAIN will I return to the Bear, DE location. GF pizzas are expensive and I do NOT intend on wasting my money, time, and energy with a crew that makes unnecessary “mindless” mistakes. *New pictures added and dated to separate the reviews. 01-17-2023 - The Papa Johns location in Bear Delaware makes a delicious gluten-free pizza. The staff has been consistent with perfecting my GF pizza every time with a crispy crust while mastering to add the right amount of extra cheese I love. The price is reasonable for a GF pizza crust. This location is the only one that has been able to cook it correctly, so it tastes amazing and they actually cut it all the way through. The store is always clean when I visit. Do not waste your money at this location. I was told after an hour and a half that nobody knew where my pizza was or if it was even coming, was told to call back the next day if it didn't come!!? It did finally arrive but whoever made it was apparently upset, they threw all the pepperoni on one side and my veggie lover pizza had hardly any veggies &all placed within an inch of the crust, the ENTIRE middle of the pizza was empty, sauce was barren & some slices literally had 2-3 inches of crust. To top it off when I was able to call next day because they were closed by time I got my food, one manager said she wasn't surprised, multiple complaints that day from night before and bad staff issues, offered store credit then had a 2nd manager get on phone and tell me I had to bring the old pizza in for credit because they don't trust their customers! Whole situation seems like a bad joke from a store that doesn't value the quality of their food or customers time and $. Please save your time and choose...

I was off this past Thursday and running errands and decided to get pizza for the Fam. After going to the pizza place down the street and being highly disappointed, I made a spur of the moment decision to try Poppa John’s for the first time since my 20s. The pizza was delicious and they still have the garlic butter. It’s not healthy but who goes to Poppa John’s for health food? Oh, I also got wings which were a little small but very tasty!!! More important than the food in my opinion was the customer service. The Mgr., Ms. Nikki was very kind, funny and sweet. I tried to talk her into a free 64 oz. soda since their credit card machine was down and I had to ride down to Wawa and back. Let’s just say she was firm but fair. Thank U 🙏🏾 Ms. Nikki. Also her assistant Mr. Beilal was very cool and a Jersey Boy as I am somewhat by way of Philly.
