Good day to anyone reading this and hopefully this serves as a warning to NEVER step foot into this establishment moving forward... If it was possible to give 0 stars, we would. Mind you, we we are super easy going people and don't complain about dinning experiences ever! We are from the Beaufort area originally and have family here dating back 50 years. Never in of our dinning experiences have we experienced what we did at Blackstone Grill today.

We stayed at the Beaufort Inn for the night and they provided us with (4) vouchers for my husband, myself and our (2) children in the amount of up to $10 per person for use at Blackstone. Being that we have our puppy with us, we decided to go get breakfast this morning. My husband made sure to ask if that was okay to do with the vouchers and they said that was fine, and that he just needed to pay the difference beyond the voucher $ amount. The total came up to be $59 and change, or $19 and change beyond the $40 in vouchers. My husband was given the option to tip on the $19, but he tipped $15.00 (25%) on a TO GO ORDER.

They did not visually verify the contents of the to go order prior to leaving. My husband walked back down the street to bring back food to our room and after our kids had started eating their food out of their to go boxes, we realized we were missing (2) fried eggs, an English muffin, and a side of bacon. He immediately walked back and attempted to politely explain what was going on to the front desk staff. He was questioned and told that everything was in the bag until he insisted that was not the case. The girl at the front that originally took the order then went and spoke and the Manager and came back and insisted that he needed to go back to bring all of the contents to them from the order to verify! Absolutely insane in itself 😂, but he came back to our room and grabbed all of our half eaten food from our hungry kids hands, loaded it back into the bag, and went back to Blackstone.

They then took the bag back and returned a few minutes later proclaiming rudely, "My manager said it's all good now" without VERIFYING YET AGAIN. Well upon returning we realized while they did add a box containing the English Muffin and bacon, the (2) eggs were STILL missing! Again, this was absolutely the WORST dining experience that we have had in over 40 years in the Lowcountry! 😡😡

Update to owners response: My review was in regards to the to go order that was missing several items purchased and how we were treated when bringing this to your establishments attention. We never asked to eat with our dog there, we specifically asked for only "to go" ordering. We were not accommodated in any way, we were interrogated and told we were liars over some eggs, bacon and an English muffin we paid for and tipped on as if we had dined in. The order was not verified before given to the customer and the interrogation left us wanting to...

DAGGUM it if I didn't want to like this place! It is just lacking. TLDR version: Slowwww, Dirty, Bland.

Service: we were told there was a 30 minute wait. No biggie. Once were seated we waited another 15 minutes for drinks. As the waitress took our drink order we explained to her we all knew exactly what we wanted. She said she needed to bring out our drinks first. That took another 12 minutes. After we got our drinks we told her our orders she interupted one of our parties orders to go check on "something", she came back to tell them they eighty-six burgers. No one had ordered a burger. She realized she wrote our orders down wrong and had to start over. She told one person in our party that they had the option of small or large which it didn't say in the menu at all. Just to come back and say that we were right and she put the order in wrong. After 35 minutes and none of us had received refills or our food we started getting agitated. The server brought us a plate of crackers because she thought we would be hungry but our food was ready and she was bringing it up to us. She left and we waited 20 more minutes and had to call her over which sge then explained our order was getting made now. We asked her to clarify why she told us something different and she just laughed and walked away. We went downstairs twice to ask for the manager. He didn't show up for 25 minutes. To his credit, Lou was absolutely apologetic and understanding. He tried his best to make up for it. Really seems like a wonderful guy. Cleanliness: the place needs a heavy spring cleaning immediately. We were sat upstairs and could see spider webs all over, the floor boards need vacuuming. It looked like 30 years of dirt between each board. Yuck! The upstairs bathrooms were out of towels to dry hands. Right next to the bathrooms was a large beverage/service area, got napkins from there to dry hands and they have all there extra dishes there and all the coffee carafes lined up with blue chemicals in them. Highly visible to customers. Wouldn't take much to address these things. Just needs a new eye in there to envision it. Food: it was all just "HMM". The best thinkg going was a delicious Chai Latte with thick foamy milk. High quality! The panakes were pretty good. The omlettes were thin, lacking, and overcooked on one side and still raw on the other, the salmon was old and the plate was adorned super "waffle-housy". Bad form. The "potatoes medley" consisted of 3 cubes of yellow potatoes, on cube of white potatoes, and one cube of sweet potatoes, grilled. Some edges were burnt and it lack ANY flavor. Just some minor tweaking in the kitchen.

This place could be AMAZING with some cheap, easy fixes. Again, Owner...

What a great spot! Family Grad celebration brunch, so there were a few of us, but Ms. Kerry (sorry if it's Kary) handled the table well....

We ordered breakfast VEGGIE OMELET, HOME FRIES AND FRENCH TOAST was a winning combination! The 3 PANCAKE BREAKFAST with a sausage was great! The KIDS' FRENCH TOAST, which was 1 piece of toast... was more than enough for a 2 year old... The KIDS' 3 PANCAKE breakfast was a gag!!!!! 3 little, i mean litttttttle silver dollar pancakes that my 2 yr old would have laughed me... you should have seen my 8 yr olds face lol.... We ended up ordering him regular pancakes because, omg! As for me, i started with the CAJUN SHRIMP N GRITS... now it comes with chorizo, but i dnt eat meat, so im left to assume that's where all the flavor was because it was plain!!!!! I mean, it looked soooo good but had no flavor. 2 others ordered 1 with meat one without n the other w/o felt the same, but decided to push through. I, on the other hand, got a new dish. N Ms. Kerry had no issues changing it for me... The OMELET FLORENTIN was sooooo good!!! The right amount of egg so it wasn't huge n didn't feel "poured" fresh ingredients u cld tasted the flavor no additional seasoning needed.

The space was cute college vibes with the decor, but no tvs or anything, so it doesn't give "hang out" or "pull up" The service was fast didnt feel like we were waiting long, especially since there were 11 of us. N in the age of overly decorated washrooms... this one was WHITE i mean so white and so clean i had to take a picture lol....

Thanks for a great meal. We will definitely be back...

My wife and I just had a wonderful Honeymoon in Beaufort. Blackstone's Cafe played a major role in our amazing vacation. My wife has a gluten allergy, so that is always our first concern when eating out, especially in an unfamiliar area. Blackstone's takes gluten allergies very seriously. Our first full day in town we picked up breakfast togo and ate it at Henry Chambers Waterfront Park. We were immediately hooked. We brought along our dog, Tony, and were planning on buying most of our meals togo. That same day we came back to Blackstone's to pickup lunch. The owner met my wife at the front door and informed her that they have a dog friendly patio in the back. It was a nice quiet place, perfect for lunch. Once again the food was fantastic- Quality ingredients, well executed and downright delicious! The staff was super friendly, and very careful and aware of gluten allergies. They even brought out a bowl of water and treats for Tony! We loved Blackstone's so much, that we came back twice for breakfast and took lunch togo on our way out of town! My favorite meal was an Eggs Benedict special with smoked salmon! We look forward to coming back to Beaufort and Blackstone's Cafe.
