I was visiting Beaumont, attending training with my company. My wife and I stopped in at 9PM on Wednesday night, so not a whole lot of options aside from fast food chains. There was only one other table of guest upon entering and we were not kindly greeted be the server, almost feeling as if we were a burden coming in at this time although they did not close for another hour. We were seated and ordered drinks. When drinks were brought we were rushed to order. We ordered soup and wontons, and asked for a few to decide on main dish. We then ordered an order of sesame chicken and a order of sweet & sour chicken with plans to exchange and share. The food was brought quickly which was a plus and everything was presentable and hot. My wife took a bite first of the sesame chicken and pushed the plate away stating that the chicken had a bad taste as if the chicken was bad. We sat the plate to the side and shared the sweet & sour chicken dish. The server came by a while later and asked how it was and I let him know everything was good except for the sesame chicken that was not good. He seemed annoyed and I'm not even sure what he said at that point before walking away. We finished the meal and he approached the table and literally dropped the ticket book on the table. I reviewed the ticket expecting that the sesame chicken would have been removed, but it was not. I explained to the server that the chicken was not good and we did not eat the meal because of this and did not feel that I should have to pay for such. He told me that I had to pay, so I requested the manager. The manager came and I explained the issue. The lady told me that they have been making the same recipe of chicken since they've opened with no issue. It took much effort explaining that the chicken itself is what tasted bad as if something was wrong with it. Furthermore I explained the attitude of the server and the poor service we received as well as the fact that we were never offered any refills even when both glasses were empty on his visits to the table. The manager snatched up the ticket and stormed to the counter, and returned with the sesame chicken removed. Overall this appeared as a very nice and clean establishment with very presentable dishes, but the attitude of the employees and the service was a...
Read moreI was in town to hang out with my son. One of our favorite things to do is play liverpool rummy. So we decided to find a restaurant where we could order dinner and play at the table. We were craving chinese food. My mom suggested Jo Jo's, so we decided to try it out.
We walked in around 5:30 pm on Saturday night and sat ourselves in the corner. There were 4 tables occupied already. It took about 5 minutes for them to bring us a menu out. We asked a few questions, and the waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu.
We ordered 2 eggrolls, eggdrop soup, orange chicken, which came with fried rice, and beef lo mein.
The eggdrop soup came out first. It was DELICIOUS!! Could not have been any better. Perfect in every way.
The eggrolls came out next. They were piping hot. Like hehehe hoohoohoo hot. But oh so delicious. Especially dunked in the sweet and sour sauce.
The orange chicken and beef lo mein came next. Both were fabulous! The orange chicken was not too spicy. The beef was so tender.
The atmosphere was ambient. Several times, I mentioned how much I loved the music that was playing. I wish I knew the names of the songs.
The waitress could've been a little more friendlier, but maybe she had a long day. We oftentimes felt ignored or not checked on like the other patrons. She also was loudly tossing silverware on 20-25 plates she had spread out on the table next to ours, which was quite annoying and could've either been done quietly or after hours.
There were probably 20 people that came in and picked up food they had ordered to go. I can definitely see why.
Next time, I'll be ordering the food to go.
Our bill was $33...
Read moreMay 27, 2019. Inconsistent and on decline. Item description on menu misrepresent the dish. Ordered seafood dish, received imitation crab and clam, shrimp where rubbery. The food was not hot only luke warm. The rice was cold and came with an added charge for a cup of rice needed to finish the meal. The service was very poor (attitude problem) and our server had no knowledge of the dishes. It looks like the problem trickles down from the manager. The manager had an excuse for everything, looked he had a lot of practice with making excuses. Looking back we should have returned our order after we saw what we were being charged for. We will not Return we have learned our lesson. Too inconsistent and overpriced for what you get. There are better choices in the area.
September 2018. Looks like newmanagement. Better food and service.
August 2016. Food and service much improved. Great for lunch.
First Review. I thought this was going to be a good place for lunch, about a year ago. But lately it seems like they always want you to have something you did not order. They cannot or don’t want to keep the orders straight. You can lose your appetite dealing with the...
