My first visit here I was pleasantly surprised that for once the food that looked good in pictures was actually amazing in person as well. They had my favorite cheese enchiladas the way I like them, super cheesy and with the right amount of sauce and the cheese was just melted everywhere. My husband got the (3) item combo with the shredded beef hard taco, shredded beef enchilada and Chile relleno, he's not a big fan of enchiladas but he said that these were amazing. I only got refried beans due to my oral surgery and not being to eat hard stuff yet so rice for me. I also have the guacamole to my husband which he loved. All the dishes here are huge portions. I was watching as all the dishes were coming out and trust me they are worth the price. You will find that most their plates are in the $11 to $18 range but you get what you pay for on top of excellent food. My reason for the (4) stars was due to a flan which we ordered that the caramel sauce tasted sour as if they almost burned the caramel. The flan itself was amazing. Oh and FYI everything is homemade here nothing from a can etc. The other thing is their staff not everyone wears a mask so if that's one thing you want to feel secure about this is not the place to go to. They also do not space out their seating area and do not require customers to wear a mask. Although I did see a cook come out of the kitchen and he was wearing a mask. I hope to be back soon once I can eat different things to try out more of their amazing dishes. Shout out to Zairo our waiter and Aimee both of them were super nice and made our experience here an even better one. We will definitely be back soon with an appetite to try more. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you are on your way back from Morongo Casino and want some bomb Mexican food this is the place to stop at. A big plus it is right off the fwy so you will not have to drive far to get back on. Also I did forget to mention another plus they do have both a men's and a...
Read moreBased on the front facade, this place is much larger than it appears. The dining area is in an "L" shape with all tables -- no booths. The interior is quite plain and provides no atmosphere. With all hard surfaces, the reverbaration of all the conversations makes for a noisy dining experience. I got the Fajitas Sonora, which is their name for the beef option. It was actually quite good, with plenty of protein and vegetables -- certainly more than I could eat in one sitting -- thus, I got a "take home" clam shell. The fajitas were served with warm tortillas and a separate plate of arroz, frijoles, guacamole, crema agria, and pico de gallo -- all fresh and all good. I washed it all down with a bottled Mexican Coke. Service was just adequate, with ordering, delivery, and servicing each being handled by a different person. My server did not "check" on me enough. While the food was good -- not outstanding -- the "vibe" of La Casita is not welcoming. The staff was not especially friendly and physical space is quite bland. I would rather eat at Casa Cruz in the same city. Therefore, La Casita is Not...
Read moreThe food was great. Had lunch with my sister, neice & grand daughter. Would have given 5 stars for all but they have only one menu utilized for all meals. You would think they would have separate menus for Breakfast & Lunch, so they dont have lunch specials! However, they do have a meal you could call a sampler meal for 2, which has several of their entrees & only one is a sample size. It includes Enchiladas, Tacos, Chile Rellenos & Taco Salad, Beans & Rice, more than enough food for 2 for $30. We grew a little concerned when it was time to pay though because the card we used was passed from one hand to another & while we waited the waiter was helping other customers then walked into the kitchen with the card. It took about 15 mins or so to get cashed out & our card was out of sight half of the time which was a...
