Let me start by saying that I love this Hawaiian bbq franchise. The food is overall tasty and consistent. However, this particular location has 3 deficiencies as far as I can tell:
They skimp on and overcook the meat. I pay roughly $31 for two plates of chicken. At this price point I expect to get plenty of juicy chicken which is not the case here.
They push out orders way out of order. Now I understand that having 1 or two higher number orders being called before yours is normal, but I've experienced 10+ over at this location on multiple occasions. I regularly see other people going up and asking about their order's ETA so I know it's a recurring theme. A little hint to management. FIFO.
Wait time to get your food is way too long. This is caused by number 2 I believe. I think management is trying to make things run more efficiently and they push out their most common dish out first. I imagine this to be the bbq chicken. While a seemingly valid approach, they disregard and delay other dishes. Thus you get a scenario where certain customers get their food super fast, but others have to wait 25+ minutes. Yes, this has happened to us back to back the last two times and always happens when I order the Island fire chicken.

Read moreI visited the Beaumont, Ca. Location near my house. I came in early when there was not many customers. I ordered the Island Fish, which takes a little longer to prepare sometimes. My concern was that there were two young ladies working and the cook seemed to be paying attention to orders. Alice and her co-worker were so involved in their conversation that they were not paying attention to my order and another customer that arrived after me with a larger order, not only got their order before mine, but I had to wait again after waiting 15 minutes before she realized that the cook hadn’t received my order. I placed the order in the establishment. How did my order get overlooked I wonder. They got all of the previous orders out, including the other gentleman arriving after me. It felt like it wasn’t as important to her as the Latin and Caucasian customers. This is unacceptable and I hope this is addressed with the two young ladies that were speaking Spanish and English amongst each other. I speak some Spanish, but not everyone speaks the language and they didn’t know I spoke the language. This definitely needs to be addressed. I tried to contact corporate and to no avail. What stood out most was her kindness and proactive attitude. While waiting for my order I couldn’t stop watching her greet customers and take food orders while she remained calm, professional, and attentive to everyone, embodying true aloha spirit.
Her energy and work ethic not only reflect her dedication but also elevate the overall vibe of the restaurant. Daisy truly went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, which is rare to find these days.
