We tried twice at the Cafe once during lunch hours and another time during breakfast. So we were able to try both their breakfast and lunch kolaches. We tried gyro from their lunch menu, cheese egg sausage jalapeños and cheese egg bacon from their breakfast menu. Other than that we tried double chocolate and cream cheese Kolach as well and they are scrumptious. About drinks we tried 3 musketeers both the times it was just perfect. Even the balance of coffee and chocolate was better than Starbucks with the perfect amount of sweetness. They do sale the kolaches from a day before at flat 40% off. I would like to try their biscotti perhaps the next time. They have a old town heritage restaurant feel as far as the ambiance goes. The parking at rush hours on weekend would be a little challenging. We had challenges when we went during the lunch time on Saturday. Morning are better I would say. Also they run out of items very fast so it is likely that you would not get want you want if you are late. There are seating area but the restaurant is mostly popular with take out. If you want you can eat in once after getting your order. The service is very good and every service person is really wonderful. The view from the restaurant is good as well. But I donot think that they have high chair so if you have a small child you may not eat in. The items in their menu is not expensive. We were billed under 25 for two people both the times with 15% tip. I would highly recommend...
Read moreWhenever hubby & I visit a new area I seek out local, unique dining options and Cafe Kolache checked all the boxes. We arrived a little after 1 and hubby grabbed a table out front while I went inside to order. I got 1 ham & Swiss, 1 chicken fajita with jalapeno, a cup of sausage bacon minestrone, a Bavarian cream for dessert, a triple berry spritzer and an iced tea. Everything was absolutely delicious - the soup was filled with sausage, veggies & noodles, rich and filling, I wish I had gotten a quart to go. In both of the lunch kolaches hubby and I loved how the meat was cut into bite sized pieces and each of them were amazing, so flavorful and the sweetness of the kolache perfectly complimented the savory goodness inside. The Bavarian cream kolache had a cherry on top and was the perfect size dessert. I really enjoyed the triple berry spritzer but that iced tea was the bomb, not sure what type of tea they use but it was refreshing. The staff here are all so nice and follow all covid guidelines. We will...
Read moreWe found this place on our adventurous trip with my family from 🇸🇰 Slovakia to research old relatives in the area. Being aware of big Czech and Slovak presence in the area, it was still a nice surprise as "Czechoslovak" cuisine is quite rare in US. It is not traditional kolace but more of a Texas take on them - as we learned reading a bit about the bakery. The fact that it is a take on our traditional kolac made it more interesting for us, and we bought and tried as much as we could :) Even in busy morning hours, the staff was very friendly and patient as we wanted to try a little bit of everything, plus take some with us on the road. 5 star rating is well deserved! 👌
We also encourage you to check the real deal from the Czech Republic and Slovakia if you get the chance, as every region has their own takes on...
