I had to update my rating to 1 star today. Went in to grab a quick lunch. They weren't busy at all. I won't mention the DV situation happening in the parking lot as we arrived, as I don't think they were responsible for not intervening and making patrons call the police.
Moving on, there were 2 girls ordering in front of us. They were having fun with the employees and took at least 5 minutes to order between the chit chat. At this point there are at least 5 people in line to order. I walk up, smiling, waiting to place my order. The worker asked me what i wanted and then immediately walked away to whisper to the grill cook, came back and just starred at me. The gentleman did not appear to be in the same jovial mood he had just been in with the previous guests, so I quickly gave my order. I never received a smile or a thank you. I was going to order drinks but declined due to the poor attitude.
Food was okay- it took aroubd 15 minutes to come out. I got chips and queso and birra tacos. My boyfriend ordered a beer and was brought the wrong one after some time.
All in all, I'm happy to not return to this location. I can get better food and service basically anywhere else.
I feel some customer service training would benefit...
Read moreFood was sub par. Which I guess it's my fault for believing such an Americanized restaurant would be "authentic" mexican (as it had signs everywhere suggesting it was authentic). The pork tacos was ok..the rajas taco was good, not great.. although authentic rajas is made with poblano peppers & not bell peppers. The steak fajita was good, not great..the steak nachos was better then the chicken. The guacamole wasn't really good...Their offerings of salsas is a joke. Oh, and their "street corn" is gross, don't even bother..This was the 1st time my family of 5 ate their & we spent $60. Four of us rated it a 4 out of 10 & youngest daughter rated it a 5. The only situation I'd eat here again is if a large group of my friends or family wanted 2 eat there, I would go, because I wouldn't want to be that one who disagrees...whoever founded this place has clearly never been to Mexico or has eaten genuine authentic Mexican food..it'd be different if they said they were "mexican inspired" but authentic?...HAHAHAHA ..the only thing authentic was the Jarritos & valentina..I mean come on! Everyone knows the base of a good taco is the tortilla, and the tortillas that they use are meh.......not impressed at all..I'll stick to my taquerias...
Read moreThe tacos are fantastic, but I'm giving a one star because of a really weird interaction with the guy who took my order. I am going to sound so petty here, but look at my other reviews (I have a ton) and hopefully you'll see that I'm as objective as I can be and take reviewing seriously. Short version: I walked up and ordered 2 Alombre tacos (the best, by the way). The guy said, "We're out". So I ordered some other tacos. The next dude walked up while I was waiting and started ordering in Spanish (which I understand and can speak moderately well). The customer asked what they have available, and the freakin employee told him they had Alombre asking with all the other kinds of meats! I thought I must not have heard him correctly, but several minutes later another Spanish speaking customer walked up and the same exact thing happened, but this time I was certain of what I had heard because this customer actually ordered them. I was so confused (still am, really), but mostly disappointed. Now I don't really know what to do when I go back. If that guy is there, I'll go somewhere else. I wish i knew if he's an owner or just an employee - if he's an owner, I'd reluctantly find someone else to eat from now on. That would be...
