To start off, I ordered a to-go meal for lunch, which I ordered the filete relleno and the tres leches. When I arrived to pick up and pay for my order, there was no one around at the host stand, bar, or register desk. It took around 10 minutes before anyone came out, and from there I payed and took my order. When I got back to eat, I found the fries and rice to be very well made, the salad lacked inspiration as it was just lettuce with an orange slice, and the tortillas to be nice. The menu mentions garlic bread which was missing. Now onto to main course, the filete relleno. This is described on the menu as a stuffed fish fillet with octopus, shrimp, bell peppers, and mushrooms, with melted cheese. What I received, was a fish fillet with scallops, mussels, whole shrimp (not deveined and with head on), pasta, a lot of cream based sauce, and not a single mushroom, bell pepper, or bit of octopus on the order. There might have been melted cheese under the sauce but it was so drowned in it that it would be unrecognizable. From looking back at the menu, it appears my dish was half made and then combined with a pasta Vallarta, which is a much cheaper meal. The Tres Leches cake was really good though, which is what brought my overall score back up to 3/5 stars. However, I have no intention of returning after...
Read moreThe margarita tower, all flavors, is a must, but requires 3 people comfortably as a minimum. The margaritas flight is also very good, just not quite as much fun. The appetizers we had, crispy fish and empanadas, were excellent. The crispy fish was perfectly prepared and not over cooked. Being from Florida, that matters, and the result is noticeable once you've had fish cooked to perfection. Can't say if they're consistent in that, but when we visited, they were. I say that because i ordered the fish and shrimp with cheese sauce dish and it was over salted or too much salt in the seasoning mix used. I'm on BP meds that keep me at 120/80 or close to it, and my BP was 158/110 the next morning. Could have been a heavy hand. Some of the Cajun and creole seasoning mixes have more salt and if one was used and salt added, not so good. I've done that at home when I ran out of one, so maybe that's what happened here. The chicken nachos were also eccentric, good cheese sauce, different approach but very good. I'm going to try the beef out steak nachos next, and maybe get the fish fritters again, next...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious, my whole family loved it. We were sat quickly, and everything we ordered came out in a reasonable amount of time.
Appetizer: a big thing of prawns. It was my first time having them, and they were great.
Entrees: I ordered the pasta Vallarta, which was GREAT. The sauce was thick and buttery, and when I reheated the leftovers the next day, it was still good. My mom got the whole tilapia, which she tried and loved. I'm not sure what my dad and brother got, but they liked it.
We also got a large serving of crab legs, which were a bit of a mess but very tasty and had plenty for all of us.
For drinks, my mom got a sampler thing of margaritas, my dad got a Coke, and my brother and I got Jarritos sodas.
Would definitely recommend to anyone. Some of the menu items are expensive, but there are low-mid range...
