I had a really bad experience at this restaurant. To start we had some chips and salsa. We ordered ceviche, the costal azul and the tilapia frita. We asked for the ceviche to come out first. When the ceviche came we asked for more chips. The lady that brought out the food nodded and never came back. We started to eat our ceviche plain with out anything. Finally the waiter came to us about 10 minutes after, we asked if he could get us more chips. He came back with more chips a few minutes later. Then our food came out and we asked the person who brought us the food for salsa. She told us the options that they had and we told her we wanted the habanero and green salsa. She talked to someone in her ear and walked away. They never brought the salsas we asked for. When the busser was cleaning the table next to us I took the glass bottle of salsa to use for our food. The whole time we saw our waiter about 4 times. They put on a great show with birthdays and the shot glass airplane show. But I think this restaurant definitely needs to work out how the waiters and the staff attends the restaurant. Trying to get peopleās attention the staff seemed annoyed. Iāve been to el chino at the other locations and overall they have been great experiences. The food tasted great but it needed the salsa and chips. Just for this bad service I donāt think I will ever want to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy friend passed by she loves Mexican food. We stopped in for lunch, Saturday afternoon. We were greeted as we entered the door by a very friendly hostess. This set the stage for the service throughout the whole experience we were treated so fine. They took our drink orders and brought the complementary chips and salsa. I asked for bean dip and they brought that too. The chips were really good crisp and tasty. The salsa nice touch of spice.
I had the ceviche and friend she had camarones de almoja de ajo sauce. Lots of garlic... she thought it was good first time for her to have that much garlic...I thought the presentation was nice. I had the ceviche. Lots of pulp, shrimp and fish. Winter in Oregon it is hard to have tomatoes.... but for color yes.
I liked the young kid ordered the hamburger on the table next door. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their food. Lots of happy people. Fancy place maybe one could say some time was put into the decor. Big screens on the wall. Upstairs looks like some nice dining. They took payment at the table. Friendly service great food. I believe one of the owners passed by or management and gave a nod...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe decided to go here because it just opened. It was just badā¦just bad all around. The waiter didnāt know how to make my margarita, take our money to pay or bring us any salsa for the cold stale chips. He should been better trained and had someone shadowing him. I got the mixed meat (shrimp, chicken, steak) fajita. It was more like a soup, nothing was grilled (remind you grilled is in the name of the restaurant) I asked for half corn and half flour. He said that wasnāt possible. I was like whatever. It was brought out not on a sizzling platter but on a plate. It was cold when I got it. The shrimp was over cooked (rubbery) and the plate tasted like shrimp so I didnāt eat any of it. If the food was good (or decent) I would not be complaining at all but it was $60 for two and we ended up getting food from somewhere else. The margarita was alright but it took him 20 minutes because he said āI donāt know how, I have to wait for herā. The space is huge so they must pay a lot monthly for it. The food needs to be exponentially better and the waiter I had needs to be trained for this place to survive but I will never know because I would...
