I'm sorry I wish I could give a better rating. We came at 3:45 because we were in the neighborhood and I always wanted to go there. I was going to stop at Trader Joe's because they carry many gluten free items. The store was almost sold out of course because it was late in the day. I bought a mini blueberry loaf that was smaller than a muffin. It cost a whopping $5.50 + tip. I took 2 bites one for me and one for my friend who confirmed it was old. It tasted stale and it was hard. I could have had 4 giant gluten free coffee cake muffins at Trader Joe's for less than that. I have been gluten free for many years and bake my own products, and even vegan options using flax or arrowroot. So I know when something is old. Furthermore, the price it cost to make one of these is not worth the $5.50 markup. But I wanted to support a local store, unfortunately I will not be coming back. There are 335 million Americans in the United States, and 1/3 are gluten free. That makes this store an important and valuable place in the community. Please upgrade your food to reflect that value.

Update: I see the sincere response from the owner and I am updating my review. No need for reimbursement. I will stop by sometime in the future and give you another try. Thanks for the good service that is what my reviews...

I LOVE this place! I can eat gluten, but one of my best friends has celiac so we come here whenever we’re on the west side.

I recently started a low FODMAP diet for figuring out triggers for IBS symptoms, and haven’t been able to eat many sweets. When we came in I figured I wouldn’t be able to eat anything, but I’m super new to the diet so I thought I’d ask. The guy I talked to (handsome guy with maybe an English accent) didn’t know the diet either, but spent a bunch of time looking over ingredients and reading a bit about the diet just to help me! I felt bad holding up the line but he was so kind and appreciative of me bringing up a dietary restriction he didn’t know about.

In the end I got a little hand pie that was the safest bet and it was SO GOOD. All of there stuff is amazing I’d go to this bakery over most. I’ve also gotten one of the vegan savory items (I can’t remember which) and it was sooooo satisfying for breakfast, nothing was missing it was perfect.

Love them so much and the shop is so cute, I hope they open an east side location we’d go...

I have eaten gluten free my entire life, and never have eaten GF products this awful. By far the worst experience eating somewhere that specializes in GF. The store is very flashy for no reason, tables are beyond unreasonably tiny. The food was not good at all, especially for what they charge. The "calzone" pizza pocket things, tastes nothing like pizza, falls apart like a sand castle when you go to cut into it and the texture/taste is beyond gross. The quiche, which i was very much looking forward too since i haven't eaten one on like 15 years or so. The quiche was sadly disgusting. It was full of cream cheese pockets, and inconsistent texture all around. I really dont like writing reviews like this but it needs to be said and these people need to do better for an already struggling...

Yay! A place where we can eat gluten-free pastries that are DELICIOUS! The pumpkin bread was my favorite! We loved the vegan options too! My toddler can eat them! The lemon blueberry pop tart was scrumptious, the strawberry mango sweetie pie was a fun new treat, and our least favorite was the blueberry muffin, but it was still yummy! A non-vegan item we tried was the honey lavender cupcake (it's their seasonal one, so go eat it while it lasts!) I absolutely loved it! Wish it was vegan! :) We only did takeout but others were enjoying the relaxed atmosphere. We love all the pink retro vibes! Definitely coming back for more! (Also, location is perfect and plenty of parking!)

Just the cutest little delicious bakery!! If the place itself isn’t cute enough, the whole staff was beyond kind. They were helpful with recommendations, explaining the company and gave me full confidence that everything was safe for a celiac or dairy free person to eat. The pastries were picture perfect but also nice and flaky. We tried the French toast (our favorite!), the goat cheese and bacon quiche, snuggle pie, mixed berry band pie, coffee cake (also amazing!), and the banana and salted caramel Spencer cake. I only took a picture of what we originally ordered but after a few bites we had to get more to take home! Definitely would recommend and come back to

Don't sleep on this funky, retro inspired gluten free haven. The atmosphere is fun and the staff is friendly. The feeling of nostalgia hits you as soon as you walk up. Then comes the anticipation of looking at all the deliciousness through the glass display case as you wait as patiently as humanly possible for your turn to order. We got biscuits and gravy, various cup cake flavors, and an oatmeal cookie sandie... it was all slammin'. They also have dairy free/vegan options, savory items, and a variety of coffees. You can snag a groovy seat inside or outside or take your treat to go. Hold The Wheat is dine-o-mite!
