Last review. I had a terrible experience here yesterday.
Admittedly, I caused the staff extra work.
In effect, I was asked to not return. My part was, due to a medical condition, without an option, I did cause them extra work.
So, even though I've loved supporting this locally and all female owned restaurant, I find it impossible to not react to being asked to not return.
The food has only gotten better over the years. The same with the service EXCEPT for my recent expulsion.
No need to mention the atmosphere again.
Since I'll never be returning, I'm not sure how to rate them now.
I'll figure it out and wanted to let you know the situation.
As with all such reviews, the owners can and most likely will respond.
So be it.
Never again! _------++++-------++++------
Chris Watson, new employee at Ickabod's. He said his specialty is Italian food. I had one of the best apple crispa I've had in my life made by this new employee. Early May 2025 Although I've always loved Ickabod's for many reasons, Chris brings something special beyond what I've experienced to date. I look forward to returning over and over to see what he's prepared. He appears to be young. His expertise in food preparation seemed only hinted at by the small expense I've had so far. I have no doubt you will have a delightful culinary experience if you go to Ickabod's now
As I said, I've always loved it and the wonderful two ladies who own it. Now there's a new reason to go there.
Let me know. Bill _------+++++------
As always, they were awesome. I had breakfast before my friends came to play American Mah Jongg with me. Don't expect to be able to play this type of game at Ickabod's. We agreed before setting it up that if we were interfering in any way with the business, we'd stop. A great time...
Read moreFood, service, and location are all fantastic! My mother recently joined my husband and me at Ickabod's for lunch, and we truly enjoyed our experience. In the midst of this super fun (sarcasm) pandemic, we wanted to eat out somewhere together, but preferably outside. Ickabod's has a great outdoor patio set up and additional tables out in part of the parking lot. We were able to sit outside, under the shade of some large, well-placed umbrellas with no waiting. I had the pesto mac and cheese and a marionberry cider, which were both delicious, and they had the fish and chips, which they said were great. The gal who waited on us was so friendly and funny, and she was very attentive, even though basically all of the outdoor tables were full. We only popped inside for a moment to get ourselves seated outside, so I can't say much about the inside, but it looked clean and spacious. Based on people coming in and out for smoke breaks, I can tell there's still some of the old school "tavern folks" patronizing the place, but that seemed to be in the other side of the building. The building looks like it's been recently updated, maybe part of the revitalization of old downtown Beaverton, and I'm into it. We'll definitely be back....
Read moreCalled in my order and the guy who took my order was very pleasant 🙂 my order was long, and he still was very nice. The atmosphere was very nice, everyone inside seemed to be enjoying themselves, so a welcoming atmosphere. But for starts, honestly, the 3 grilled cheese wasn't good- at all. I tried that first and it set the mood wrong for the rest of the food I had ordered. I had fish and chips- the house made tartar sauce, amazing. since we took out and ate at home, i unfortunately wasnt able to enjoy what was probably some of the best fish fry breading ive ever tasted, well seasoned, fryed to literal perfection. I will be back to try it fresh and hot off the fryer, given there weren't any tastes taking away from the fish, I'm assuming the fryer was clean too. 👌 The onion rings we got were also, fried to perfection and the perfect amount of onion and fry. Unfortunately they were out of cheesecake, I hope when I go back they have some because that I was excited to try.
8/10 do reccomend, but will be back to try everything...
