I got the lemon chicken. It was OK, but not what I was expecting. It came with two fried chicken cutlets, a bowl of lemon sauce, and a bowl of rice. I was only able to eat one. The chicken was oddly tough despite being a cutlet. I probably wouldn't get this dish here again.
I also got the Buddha's Delight from the special diet section because I wanted the clear sauce. The guy told me it was steamed, which I thought was OK. I was expecting the dish with ginger, garlic, and onions for flavor. The dish I got was just steamed vegetables with brown sauce on the side. Again, it's not what I was expecting. But at least there were a lot of vegetables like broccoli, Napa cabbage, sliced carrots, and snap peas.
The last item I ordered was pan- fried wontons (10). I wanted something like pot stickers instead of deep-fried dumplings. The wontons appeared to be fried in a pan because one side was darker. But, the wontons were basically deep-fried.
The takeaway is that the menu is misleading. If I ate here again, I'm not sure what I should get except the wontons. I might try another vegetable dish...
Read moreWhen here for lunch on a Monday, it was pretty empty maybe two other customers. As soon as you walk in you can seat yourself whether at a table or booth. We took a booth as we were just a party of two. They bring you Chinese noodle and sweet and sour dip right a way. We ordered the lunch special chicken and cashews and a poo poo platter for two. Both came very fast and was very fresh and delicious! We also told the waiter that we would like a pint of wonton soup to go when we leave and he not only brought us a doggy bag he did remember to bring the wonton soup also the check came to the table and we paid directly from the table we did not have to go up to pay. It is very neat and clean when you walk in with tablecloths that are covered and menus and silverware and napkins are on the table. Excellent first impression will definitely...
Read moreStopped randomly on a Fri at noon in Bedford VA. Not busy- a sign. Ordered egg rolls and jumbo shrimp as an appetizer and sweet and sour chicken. The egg rolls had a hard crust that made them hard to eat. The "jumbo shrimp" were not jumbo. They were med shrimp flattened with a mallet into a paper thin pancake and then fried so long that they were as hard as dog biscuits. The fried rice was awful. The wonton was stuffed with really bad cheese. The sweet and sour chicken was good. The sweet tea was so sweet that a diabetic would incur a cardiac arrest. Would only recommend this place to those with a low food IQ, those who have lost their sense of taste, or those souls starving to death! The public bathrooms were not clean. I will...
