My husband and I bought furniture Labor Day weekend and this review is long over due. Brian Keller was our salesperson and not only did he do an impressive job in helping us pick out what we thought we wanted, but he even helped me move pieces around in the showroom to see what suited. Unfortunately for us, the lighting in the store was not the same as in our house so Virginia Furniture Market was very obliging in letting us exchange the pieces for something else. The delivery guys were fantastic both times. Brian gets an extra shout out from us because he didn't pressure us, but spent a fair amount of time on all of our visits to the store so he is our salesperson for life over there! We also shared this sentiment with the managers at the Bedford store that he is top-notch. My husband and I were both in sales positions in the past so we know that these folks make their money from building relationships with their customers. Maybe I shouldn't write this (probably should be 2 reviews) but to the salesperson... not going to say gender here but pretty sure you know who you are... who tried to steal us as customers on his day off to "write up the sale" you really were very off-putting, a little insulting (telling me our choices were not good ones because I didn't pick the high-end furniture but chose "cheaper furniture" in your showroom ), and it was very obvious what you were up to. How do you know why my choices were less expensive options? I have a dog, grandkids, and I might not want to spend so much $$ on the high end products. I still spent about $3400 on a living room. You would have known that if you spent 10 minutes with me. Unlike the time invested that our salesman Brian spent with us, you spend zero time on our sale beforehand, but were going to "split the sale" for writing it upon his day off!?! Then you later approached me on the showroom floor after I explained I was someone else's customer, still trying to sell me something. Really? Since this was early Sept when we bought our furniture, you might not even still be there but if you are, you should really stop it. It reflects poorly on your sales skills that you have to snipe a commission from a co-worker(s) who actually helped the customer. I tried to be polite to you, and I am not trying to out you in this review either. It is just something that should be said because not all customers understand commission sales, and I believe had I not known myself, my salesperson would not have been compensated for his time spent with us, his well earned customer. This is supposed to be a positive review so back to it! We have bought a lot of furniture from this company over the years, and our old salesperson in the Rocky Mount store retired long ago. Glad we found Brian in Bedford to help us whenever the next time will be for purchasing furniture from VFM. He was personable, honest and very helpful. Go see him for your next furniture shopping trip. You won't be...
Read moreAfter a recent move to the Bedford area, I looked at several area stores for furniture for a new home purchase. I had popped into VFM to see what they had to offer, having never been to one before. I met Ken soon after. After explaining I was just getting ideas that day since it was too soon to pick anything with tons of boxes yet to unpack, Ken gave me time to browse around with no "shadowing" that I was aware of. :) Before I left, we spoke of the company, their current promotion, delivery policies, protection plan, etc. A week later, I came back prepared to purchase. It was April Fool's weekend, and busy in the store. I saw Ken with other customers so I began to look around making selections for my new home. I was greeted with "Hellos" by several sales staff but never bothered. It let me know that there were folks around to help, if needed. When I felt ready to commit, I asked a sales person to let Ken know that I'd like to work with him. After a few minutes, Ken came around the corner and we started discussing various Floor Sample pieces. He went over store policies again regarding returns, protection plan, delivery, etc. I'm glad he did. The refresher was needed. He walked with me around the store as I chose bedroom and living room furniture from Floor Samples to the Clearance area. He was knowledgeable, professional, and patient as I was deliberating over matching various individual pieces. Again, Ken was never pushy, didn't rush me, nor was he overly opiniated (I did ask his thoughts on color matching and he was careful to answer honestly. I had some phone pics of the flooring to try to help me select appropriate pieces.) He did a good job at juggling several customers at once. I left VFM with a sense of satisfaction that I'd purchased just what I needed for my home, and appreciation that I'd worked with a professional who knew his merchandise, the company he worked with/for, and who had true interest in seeing his customer satisfied with their purchase. Thank you for offering a broad range of quality furniture at equally varied price ranges. I anxiously await my furniture delivery this Friday. I trust the delivery end of things will be handled as well as the purchasing end. Many...
Read moreEdit: To add, my delivery went well. As it turned out, I didn't have to miss a day of work. I was contacted the day before delivery, given a time frame of my delivery, and was given a link to track the delivery truck. I was also contacted by the driver to let me know I was next up for delivery. They delivered and set up went off without a glitch. The drivers were very polite as well. All in all, my purchase was a great success!! Thanks VFM!! 😊
Leslie was super awesome!! I told her I was looking to change a spare room to a den, and she took me straight to a chofa. It's the perfect piece!! I can relax and watch tv, but I will still have a nice, easy to operate bed, when I have company. I can transform it to a bed with just one hand. No tugging, or heavy lifting. I would have given 5 stars, except I was a little disappointed in how the delivery scheduling process went. Looks like I will have to miss a day at work to have it delivered. I couldn't even get a time frame for delivery until the day of delivery!! Seems to me, if you work an afternoon schedule, they could at least TRY to work the delivery out for a morning delivery, and vice versa. It's all in the order of loading the truck. Afterall, It becomes costly when you have to pay for delivery AND miss a day of work!! It will likely end up costing me $250 for delivery!! NOTE: the delivery schedule had nothing at all to do with Leslie. I couldn't have asked for more from her, as the...
