Amy's Ice Creams — Restaurant in Bee Cave

I was so excited to show my friend from California, Amy’s for the first time… I talked it up all night before our venture. Upon arrival, our enthusiasm was there until the very moment the employee “helping” us opened her mouth. She had horrible sarcasm from start to finish, saying things when we arrived like “Oh I’m just SO excited to make you this ice cream. You have no idea.” — making comments until the very end. Even when paying, such as: “I know. Pressing buttons is hard.” while I waited for the pending payment to go through on my slow Apple pay. I ended up tipping them 25%, as a good fellow food service worker always does…. but I am extremely disappointed. Both my friend and I tossed out over 3/4ths of our ice cream because our appetites were so diminished after we left.

This was certainly not the Amy’s experience that I’m used to. I am extremely embarrassed for ever talking this place up with the way I was treated the other night. My friend described the experience as “painful”. We both could not wait to leave and rid ourselves of the bad vibes coming from this place… this was a first time customer, and he said he’d like to never go back because of the way he saw this girl acting.

Amy, I’ve been giving your Galleria location, as well as all Austin locations loyal business for over 10 years, and I’ve never seen this level of discourteousness in any of your employees, until now. You don’t want to go losing the business of longtime, happy customers, all because they’re having such a horrible time around your employees — not to mention, tarnish the reputation of Amy’s, for anyone who is subject to this behavior out of her. I introduced my sister to ice cream hotspot. This location in Bee Cave was so busy even after 9:30 pm at night.

I never realized you had a vegan flavor of ice cream! I ordered it with rainbow sprinkles. I loved it and would absolutely try it again with different toppings.

My sister tried the coffee flavor with strawberries and Oreos. She surprised me with her order. It was a nice combination of flavors. I would like to try that combination sometime too. After we ordered, there was plenty of seating outside. However, we enjoyed our sweet treat outside.

September 27 around 9:50pm I found a long black hair in my shake. If y’all got a camera, you can see me notice it on the side of my cup, undo my lid, and pull it out. Covered in chocolate sauce, this was also after I told the only long black hair employee that we already paid for my drink with my girlfriend’s order. She then proceeded to ask further questions to me, like if I was going to change her mind before she asked who made the other order.
