Original one star review: Bizarre experience. I've heard good things about this restaurant, so I took my wife to order some take-out today. We walked in and there was no one there to seat us and no sign to seat yourself. Since we wanted take-out anyway, we waited by the register and looked over the menu. Only four tables were occupied with two waitresses working. Not once did either of the waitresses look our way. We stood, then sat, then stood again and waited for at least 10 minutes. Nothing. At one point, a waitress stood in full view of us, waiting for something to do. I have no idea why they have such good reviews. We couldn't even get someone to serve us there. We finally walked out. This was so bizarre and so disappointing. I don't think we'll try again.
Update: My wife and I finally went back to Kabob Garden with her 88 year-old mother wanting some Mediterranean food. We were not disappointed. We were greeted with a smile by a young lady as soon as we entered and were seated immediately. The service and food were very good and now I know we will eat here again. I spoke with Moe, the owner, but only after we had been served and were enjoying our meal. He was gracious and didn't even ask me to change my review. But here it is. Apparently our bizarre experience a year ago was highly unusual. I'm glad we went back. Thanks, Moe and Nikai...
Read moreWhat an absolutely amazing experience. Unfortunately, our visit to Michigan from Kentucky was under sad circumstances. However, the food and service at Kabob Garden was absolutely top notch and worth every penny. Our party of 11 was warmly greeted, accomodated with multiple tables pushed together, but waited for the rest of us to show up. Our server Layla was one of a kind. Funny. Personable. Warm. Hard working. Not one of our dishes was incorrect. Not one of our cups became empty. She would come over. Quick witted banter including everyone to participate. And then shed be gone. Back only to fulfill everyones needs. The food could have been horrible and she alone would have carried this five star rating alone. Thankfully the food was just as good. The lentil soup and lamb platter with rice was amazing. Warm. Fresh. Seasoned perfectly. The lamb pies were so fluffy. The lamb wrapped grape leaves were absolutely delicious. The baba ganoush was fresh. Made on the spot. Smokey. Creamy. And everything was accompanied perfectly with a turkish coffee. Thank you Layla for the best way to top a horrible day. Thank you Kabob Garden for the wonderful food. Amazing experience. Please open a location in Paducah, Kentucky. You already have a couple life...
Read moreI’ve eaten at several Mediterranean restaurants but usually in the Dearborn area and have my favorites but am willing to give others a chance. Placed an online order while at work. Pick up time was great. I ordered quite a bit of food and one item being the sautéed cilantro and garlic wings. However when I received my order I had five hard fried plain chicken wings. I called the restaurant to ask if they sell what I ordered and was told yes. The person answered did state that they called me but was not able to reach me because they didn’t want to assume that I ordered wings with garlic and cilantro. They could have mentioned this when I picked up my order. They do not have plain wings on their menu, so if garlic/cilantro wings are on the menu and thats what I ordered; give me what I ordered. And for $10.99 for 5 hard fried not so good wings, I could have fried that myself. And one of the wings only had a piece of skin on it. The person on the phone was not apologetic but sarcastic. Never offered to correct it. The food was so gross i trashed the entire order. Needless to say, I would never go back based on the taste and service. Total waste of money. I will take the drive to...
