I've come into Lolli & Pops twice with my children. The first time, I wandered around with my young son, ogling all the different types of candy and excitedly planning what we were going to take home with us. It was a wonderful experience. We were asked if we needed help when we entered, and once while we were browsing.
The second time, I came in with both my children (ages 7 and 12). We were greeted at the door by a friendly lady who offered us a sample of pineapple gummies. Yay! However, as we browsed, she was always step or two right behind us. Before we even reached the jelly bean section, she had asked us (not just me, my children independent of me as well - tacky) if we wanted a bag (3x). She actively leaned around to watch when I reached out to pick up items I wanted to purchase, and when one of my children pointed to something out of reach, she reached forward as though to prevent him from touching a scoop. After we rounded a display at the back of the store, we went back to the front to check out the truffles and she followed again. As we were exiting the store she called after us asking if we'd like a second sample of the pineapple gummies. (Of course my little one ran back.) I had high hopes for a fun visit to Lolli & Pops with my child today around 1 PM, but unfortunately, the experience was anything but welcoming. As soon as my child excitedly reached for some candy, the older gentleman working there immediately grabbed the entire container of candy that my child wanted to try, along with the scoop or any other utensil in their hand, and took it to the backroom of the store. This happened repeatedly, making the visit uncomfortable and stressful.
This is a candy store—you should expect children to be excited and want to explore! If the staff can't handle children interacting with candy in a candy store, it raises serious concerns about the overall experience. Lots of candy to choose from, from Retro Candy, large variety of different kinds of chocolates, caramels, hard-to-find candy, retro sodas, giant suckers, fudge and toffee, a Willy Wonka type assortment of pretty much any candy you want. They also have the best assortment of gourmet gummy bears anywhere, pineapple, Peach, concord grape, Rose champagne, way more flavor than anything you could buy at a grocery store. You can buy a refill candy jar for $15 full of gummies, then you can bring it back and refill it as much as you like for only $5 forever,no limits,great deal. Best gummy bears I've ever had bar none.
