This park looks small at first but it's very extensive once you have a good thorough look around. Google maps took me to an area with sparce parking but if you put in the address 419 98th ave NE it takes you to a back door entrance that's in the middle of a nice neighborhood, there you will find much more parking space.
There is a very small beach here where it says lifeguards are here from June until early September. There is a long very nice concrete dock you can fish on if you have your fishing license. I didn't find the bathroom but I will come back another time and look for it. There is a very small playground here. There are a lot of benches on the concrete walkway past the little park but no shade. This park is best to come to on a shady day or a sunny day in cool weather because most benches and picnic tables have little or no shade. This park is not a flat land park. There are many steep hills to walk down and then back up. The address Google maps gave me parked me where there ends up a gravel hill to get down to the small kids park. It might be tricky for elderly or those with problematic knees or back cause with the gravel you can slide if you are not careful. There is a marina here to look at and nice landscape to look at across the water of the beach.
It's a good park. I gave it a four star only because it has lack of shade for benches and tables and slippery gravel slope...
Read morevery secluded feeling. has a nice swim area with rare open water lap lanes and lifeguards during the season. fishing off the dock seems to be reliable. great for picnics/relaxing/swimming or just getting away for a little while. limited parking but park is somewhat unknown so not usually too hard to find a spot. Update, the city of bellevue recently bought adjacent property and has completely torn the entire park and properties down to dirt. They are rebuilding to what looks like will be an exceptional waterfront park, with expanded everything. The only downside is that this place will not be the hidden hard to access place it used to be so expect a lot more visitors. Not completely sure when it will be done but until then keep driving west to one of the 3 other semi unknown waterfront parks in the vicinity.
update. be aware that the park has been closed for about a year to completely rebuild. Once reopen it should be spectacular and at least twice the size, but may not be as unknown anymore as the new parking area will be directly off main street in old bellevue and much more visible. supposed to be open by end of...
Read moreBellevue’s waterfront playground for people who pretend they don’t live in Bellevue. A pristine boardwalk snakes around the bay, offering million-dollar views of actual million-dollar homes—because nothing pairs better with a peaceful sunset than mild class resentment. Kayakers glide by with the smugness of people who own REI memberships, while kids splash in the designated swim area, unaware they’re basically bobbing in front of tech execs’ living room windows. The grassy knolls are perfect for picnicking, contemplating life, or just judging the yacht scene. It’s beautiful, undeniably so, and suspiciously clean—like the Bellevue city planners scrubbed away any evidence of humanity. But hey, if you’re gonna be existentially confused about your Seattle identity, might as well do it with...
