My dad, brother, and I visited Steve’s Bar & Grill on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025. We were staying at the Eastgate Hotel, Best Western Signature Collection (formerly Silver Cloud) and wanted to find a bar for some drinks and food. Surprisingly, there really aren’t that many places in the area but we did take an Uber to Steve’s.
It is a dark, small place. However, we didn’t mind. Limited beers on tap with a few televisions. But where Steve’s Bar & Grill lacked in beer options it made up for with food. The menu is vast but even more important was its quality (which was superb). My dad got the grinder, my brother got the western burger, and I ordered the meatball sandwich with tater tots. Everything from the bread to the meatballs to the overall taste was pretty darn good. The tater tots were cooked perfectly and they come with a dipping sauce of your choice. My dad and brother both really liked their choices as well. Prices for burgers/sandwiches run at least $18 so just be prepared for that.
We played $40 worth of pull tabs and only won $3 which we invested back into more pull tabs (so we lost $43). Malina was our bartender and she did a nice job. It wasn’t busy when we were there so I engaged her in conversation a couple times and she was polite and forthcoming.
As I mentioned, it is kind of slim pickings in this area for a bar but Steve’s Bar & Grill didn’t...
Read moreI am not going to lie, I was kind of put off at the sight of this place upon arrival, but I am so glad we gave it a try. It is certainly a dive bar, as described. The atmosphere is that of a dive bar, so slightly dusty and maybe a touch grimey looking, but a surprisingly clean bathroom (woman's) with a thought-provoking collage. It certainly has old bar vibes with tables, the bar, and tv's.
Our waitress was kind and attentive. The cold drinking glasses provided were a tad dirty, so we chose to drink from the original cans our drinks came in. That was not a big deal.
I ordered the mushroom and swiss cheeseburger with tater tots, and it was AMAZING! The bun was toasted and buttery. The meat patty was an ideal thickness that made it reasonable to bite, and it was tasty and moist. The cheese was pleasantly melty, and the mushrooms were nicely grilled and not overly greasy. I treasured each bite! The tater tots were slightly crisp and soft on the inside. They were alright, but I personally prefer a crispier tater tot.
Thank you for the delicious burger! I am not in Bellevue often, but if I come around again craving a burger, I know...
Read moreI first went to Steve's on a warm night back in June 2015. First thing I noticed was how cozy it was. Then I found that the regulars and the barkeeps are like family here. I joined that summer as a weekly regular - enjoying pints, singing along to Queen when it came on the jukebox, eating raw jalapeños they would bring me from the kitchen (they didn't even charge me for 'em). Then personal business took me away for about a year, but when I showed up again this last August, the barkeeps remembered me and welcomed me back.
Steve's is one of those dives where it is awesome to be a regular, because you recognize folks there and everyone's a buddy. I usually only go for late night festivities, but I hear the food is pretty damn good - and not just for a...
