2nd Healthy Eatery — Restaurant in Bellflower

Was visiting family nearby, and decided t pick up a local dinner for once we get home. Saw that this place was highly reviewed we decided to try it out. Thankfully when we got there, there was no line or wait. Though the person helping us stated a few times that it was quite the busy day. We kind of were shocked by the pricing as almost everything was over $10, but I'll say now that we definitely can see why everything was priced that way as you get so much food with each order. I can't remember the names of the sandwiches we got but essentially my wife had the roast beef sandwhich and I had an Italian sandwich. I was able get it specially made to be a bit more kept friendly with no bread and get it lettuce wrap. The person who helped us was super helpful and very friendly. The bag she handed over with our sandwiches was quite heavy, we were super surprised to see the huge portion. After eating half, I can tell you it's in my top 3 sandwich spots in the LA/IE area. The dressing/oil for the sandwich really helps break down any dryness in the sandwich which makes the huge sandwich quite enjoyable. Both sandwiches tasted great as everything was seemed freshly cut, especially the meat. No parking Waited 10 min in line the older blk woman got the line down smooth but when it was our turn she was just adamant on not helping us before we ordered she told us it’s a hour wait cuz the lady was making sandwiches assuming we didn’t want to wait we told her we didn’t mind she asked if we was sure we told her yes then she asked us how are we gonna pay we told her cash she said yall don’t have a card my bf said no and she said well the owner don’t like to accept cash I asked but yall do accept cash she said yes but the owner doesn’t really like it so I had a card I said that’s fine I understand we placed our order then she say I’m make sure we got chicken then she come back and say no grill today and I’m just sitting here thinking how I stood and watch everyone run smoothly she didn’t tell that to anyone else so I asked what do they have she said to just pick and she would ask the owner for us we glanced at the menu as we are thinking she said are you sure y’all want to order I answered u know what no Ty we left we drove 47 minutes there for that bs because we seen the reviews and online post and had to settle for a nearby rally’s I rather make my sandwich then waste gas and time to support a business who don’t want to supply...

The salad with cranberries and walnuts? Chef’s kiss. I seriously can’t emphasize enough how amazing it was! Fresh, flavorful, and balanced just right. If you’re a salad lover (or even just salad-curious), this is a must try.

My friend ordered the Turkey Pastrami sandwich, and of course I had to dip in and see what was up. And honestly robust doesn’t begin to cover it. Delicious layers of flavor that hit in all the right ways. That said, he’s a grown man and devoured it all by his big boy self 😂 but the sandwich is definitely big enough to share (not that I’d blame you if you didn’t want to 😌).

For the little one, we went with the avocado and turkey bacon sandwich, but she customized it with just avocado, cheese, and spinach - because, you know, mini human tastebuds. Even with the swap, it was flavorful and fresh. I thought it had a little too much cheese, but she was all in, so no complaints there!

Drinks: I went with the green apple and highly recommend it - refreshing and not overly sweet. Next time though, I’m definitely trying the mango.
