I was baffled today on my experience 4/8, I arrived with a car loaded of goods. I was greeted by Adan & he automatically said he couldn't accept a step 2 woodland climber. Mind you this is the place I bought it from. I said you're joking right or your being serious. He said no I'm being serious. I asked why not. He said because it's going to be hard to sell. 🤔 The item retails for $400. It's not big, plus I had already took it apart you literally connect the parts together does not need tools to build it back. I honestly feel he didn't want to deal w the maintenance or job period or having to build it. As it is they do not assist to help you bring down or load donations if needed assistance. They've never offered I've always have had to ask if needed. But then he says what else do you have I said bags full of stuff. He tells me the bags are fine, I thought to myself no it's all or nothing. If that's the case they need to have signs of what they can and can't accept. The manager was within sight I politely asked she basically said whatever the man said that's what it is. I said that's fine I'll take my donations elsewhere. Which is wild to me because they accept appliances that dont work. I have noticed a decline in goods customers and donations. Since new management the store has gotten worse with the prices. Don't let them see or think it's a name brand because up the...
Read moremy wife and i visited AR&C Value Village Thrift Store for the first time this past week. we were surprised at how large the establishment is. it was full of great stuff. clothes, toys, furniture and various knick knacks. some of the items were priced maybe more than i would have priced them; but many items were at least reasonably priced, if not downright underpriced. not that i'm complaining about that. we learned that like many thrift stores; there are discounts based on the color of the price tag-throughout the week. and on Saturday there is a great discount on furniture. so this past Saturday; we went back to pick up a neat little side table because we were told about the furniture discount. while we were there picking up the cute side table; we found a cool little kitchen table complete with a leaf; that was included. so we picked up both of them. we were helped by Jeff; he was great. he helped us load the kitchen table and even used a crescent wrench to remove the legs, because the table wouldn't quite fit into the back of the car. he was so friendly that we will go back just to have him help us again. so we will go back; and...
Read moreI had an incredibly negative experience with a cash register worker named Denise at the Value Village/ARC store in Bellflower. Denise displayed a mean and discriminatory attitude that left me shocked and disgusted.
During my interaction with Denise, it was abundantly clear that she showed favoritism towards white customers while displaying prejudice against others. Her discriminatory behavior is not only morally reprehensible but also goes against any standards of fair and equal treatment.
Denise's mean-spirited and discriminatory attitude not only ruined my shopping experience but also left me deeply disappointed in the store's management for allowing such behavior to persist. Discrimination has no place in any establishment, and it's essential that Value Village/ARC addresses this issue promptly and takes appropriate action to ensure that all customers are treated with respect and dignity.
I would strongly caution others against shopping at this store until they address and rectify the behavior of employees like Denise, who tarnish their reputation with their...
