I’m so happy that I can get bagel sandwiches again! I am not sure when it happened, but the Bagley is now operating with a fuller menu, including coffee as well! From what I could see all orders are done at a walk up window with no customers inside right now. You place your order and walk a few paces down to wait at another window. They have dedicated parking spots out front for those who decide to order online and pick up. All of these options to order are fantastic because I love the bagels and specifically the sandwiches they have on offer. At a great price you get a delicious bite with So many slices of cheese on it… it’s just a blessing in a circle shaped sammy.

I am a bagel lover. When I give into grabbing one when traveling, I like to look for a local spot and check it out and support. My order is usually a normal or egg bagel, toasted, plain cream cheese, cucumbers, and sprouts. I asked if they had the ingredients and they did! So excited. To me, the options of bagels were- ok. Everyone was nice and the place was a well ran. But when I got to eating my bagel, I was disappointed. It was hard, seemed almost like day old honestly. I loved the sprouts and fresh cucumbers. But I would say this was bagel overall sucked. I might comeback to give it one more chance, but I wasn’t too impressed.

This place has been a fixture in the downtown billing area for as long as I can remember and I have lived here almost 23 years. They have a great selection of 10 to 12 varieties of bagels, with another 10 or so varieties of cream cheese. And they have at least eight or 10 different bagel sandwiches they can make, ranging in everything from breakfast to lunch. They have a limited supply of baked goods. They also carry my favorite kombucha, made by kombucha town here in Bellingham. There is plenty of room for seating, but it can get a bit busy around the lunch hour. So plan your time accordingly.

I hate to write this but our experience there today was NOT okay. We’ve lived here for several years and have come here quite a few times and have always enjoyed it. I will say this; the bagels are AMAZING! However the service and the way we were treated today was so disrespectful and rude My fiancé and I came in happy and approached the counter to order, there were about 7 people behind the counter, not once were we greeted nor were we acknowledged. We waited there for at least 5 minutes, probably more, the blond woman at the register was kind to say hello but she was unable to take our order, which we understood completely. We waited for several more minutes and a gentlemen came, coldly said hi no friendly service and responded too our order and said “that’s it? That’ll be easy” and walked away. We both noted the couple behind us were helped right away with a smile. We waited for our order the man who took our order came out with a smile and handed another gentleman his bag. When he came out with ours he didn’t walk up to us, left it on the counter and said “here” and walked away. Needless to say we were both stunned to be so disrespected like this for absolutely reason. My fiancé even noted one of the ladies had given us a dirty look. We don’t know what to think of this treatment but feel highly disrespected and are very...

Sorry to the owners of this establishment for the 1 star review but as a business owner myself I would want to know. The person behind the register could not be bothered to look up from their phone - I asked the person a question and the person pointed to the menu, so I reviewed the menu but had some other questions and again the person referred to the menu instead of offering suggestions. The person then tells me that I need to go to the end of the line which that was on me but its very confusing because there is a sign near the end of the line to order at the register - this is reversed from conventional wisdom, so I apologized and went to the end of the line. After which the same person that was behind the register starts yelling at whoever was using the bathroom at the time. The vibe was very negative and made me think that I was a bother, needless to say I chose to take my business elsewhere, the very next place I went welcomed me when I came through the door and were very helpful with the menu. Whoever was working the cash register on January 11th 2023 at 9:30 am is not helping your business but is hindering it. I will most likely remove this review but if I was the owner of this establishment I would want to know this. unless...

I look at the bagelry as a sort of "holds you hostage" kind-of restaurant. There's not another bagel place in town, so they reap the rewards by offering terrible service and holding people hostage at the register that came unprepared without cash (cash only places I don't have a issue with, but it should be clearly stated BEFORE you place your order, not at the register after you've ordered). It's almost like they do the cash hostage thing on purpose - at least one out of ten visits someone in line gets pissed off at the register about not knowing ahead of time.

With that said, their food is bomb and their bagels are great... So alas, given no other options for a guilty Jewish pleasure, I keep coming back. My heritage demands it. Ab Einstein's in Bellingham would doom this local establishment... But alas, for some reason we're stuck with the bagelry! Expect to take at least 20+ minutes on a weekend to get your food. Which I don't really understand... How long can it take to toast a bagel and toss some capers, onions and lox on it? It's still good though and I keep...
