We will have to come back after the kinks are worked out...
The Duckpin bowling (main attraction): Was fun and compared to regular bowling a totally different technique needed.
The "Arcade games": Were the highest disappointment. Turns out it's one modern "arcade" with classics downloaded and the joystick doesn't work well. Then next to that is a Star Wars pinball machine and a Jurassic park pinball machine located on the way back wall by the bathrooms and kitchen. We asked where the rest of the "arcade games" were and were told about the other two pinball machines at the end of the bar... an Elvira pinball machine and a James bond pinball 007 machine.
Although we enjoyed all 4 pinball machines, how it was advertised and having to get gamecards at the desk gave us the expectation that there were more than 4 pinball machines and one "arcade".
The Racing Simulator games: Those looked fun and they had about 6-7 machines. We didn't have a chance to try those and I assume the gamecards also work on those.
The Shuffleboard: Is one singular tabletop along the side wall after the bar and costs $9 to play for 30 minutes.
The Patio: Was nice and big and they had classic lawn games available but it was too cold the day we went to fully enjoy it will have to come back another time to get the full experience.
The Mini golf: The designs looked awesome, it consisted of a few holes inside the building nothing big but enough to keep busy until a lane is open for bowling on a busy night or fun drinks and date night. Nothing like and all day mini golf so don't expect that. Didn't get a chance that day to play the holes though so can't speak to the difficulty level for the husband's wanting to practice their putts, lol.
The Bar: Getting some drinks expecting higher prices (which is fine) but went to order a Bucket of Beer and discovered they only serve "baby" beers in the buckets and at $18 seemed excessive. So opted for the $5 PBR tallboy and an on tap for $8 which was served in a large chunky margarita glass which was ....Interesting. It also took 2 bartenders to see us and walk past (not apearing to be assisting other customers) before the 3rd went to clear old cups and wipe the counter in front of us to look up and ask what we wanted.
When you first enter you stop at the counter and sign up for bowling and get gamecards. The tables are seat yourself we did not do that so cannot speak on time to get a waitress like the other reviews. We then went to get a drink and then play some pinball, as we played a large clang happened behind us and we turned around to see that a customer at a table behind us nearly got bumped in the head with a protective shield from water pipes above them. If you looked higher you could see about 3 or 4 shields also about to fall.
When we finally got called for bowling we were sent to an open lane and found out the empty cups and food plates around the whole place was because they have no bussers. They have waiters/waitresses taking orders and serving drinks as well as bussing and clearly that system is not working. After smelling some old nachos for 20minutes we went to the bar to ask for someone to come get the last party's drinks and old food out of our lane. We waited another 15 minutes and we finally were able to flag someone down to clear off the old food. Then discovered after observing the poor waitresses/waiter that they do not have buss tubs but tiny serving trays to help carry dishes and old food across this very long building full of people. I think some buss tubs or at least some more bussers would go a long way for the amount of excessive dishes and old food on each and every table across the whole building. For $15 a person for bowling I'd expect at the very least being sent to a CLEAN lane.
Two stars for now because the service should most definitely be improved and the advertising updated. Will have to come back and try again a...
Read moreI can't rate the food and service a zero, so 1 it is. I have been here multiple times and have not had a bad experience yet. We went on Saturday when Beloit had their Taco Takedown event right in the alley by Dorrbaker's. Storms blew in, so the food trucks closed for a bit and they had people to inside. We went into Ironworks Golf Lab for an hour so the kids had something to do. After we were done, food trucks were shutting down so we decided duck pin bowling and some good food would end the night nicely for the 7 of us(family of 4 and family of 3).
What a mistake! We got in to bowling right away and I had ordered a couple drinks at the bar already. We were going to order a couple of pizzas and some apps..but no server ever came over. We went to the bar to try and order food....the bartender never even acknowledged my precense at the bar for the 10 minutes I stood there. I was ready to leave, but the other couple I was with went up and finally got service from him. He comped the drinks, so he at least tried at that point to do the right thing.
Finally, after 36 minutes(bowling counts down your hour when you start) a waitress walked by where we caught her and said no one had come to our section yet(none of the 4 lanes, not just us) and she said it wasn't her section so she didnt know. We got a manager after that who tried to make it right with food(no thanks at that point), then donuts(lol), drinks we just got at the bar after that 15 minute wait so didn't need them either.
22 minutes left on bowling at this point, compaint to the manager about no service in the section...and still no server came over to any of the 4 lanes to see if anything was needed. That was enough of a bad experience that I don't know if we...
Read moreIâve never left a bad review and feel guilty leaving one as I work in the service industry but my experience here was meh at best and feel inclined to leave a review so service can improve in the future. My friend & I went on a Sunday afternoon & first went to the bar to get some food & drinks. There were no other guests at the bar and two bartenders working. It took one of the bartenders a few minutes to get to us and we were greeted with a âwhat do you wantâ?đłWe asked for a menu and waters. We received the menus right away, but had to ask three times for the waters before we received them. We both had a cocktail and ordered two appetizers. After ordering appetizers, we were told they didnât have one of them so we just stick with the gutterballs, which was the best thing about this place!! My gin cocktail was pretty good too. But at no time did the bartenders ask how we were doing or if we needed anything additionally. Iâm not a âflagger downerâ so we had to wait as patiently as we could. The lack of service turned us off completely, so we didnât try any of the games. Instead, we decided to finish our drinks and order another round of gutterballs to go. As we waited for our to go food, we took a walk around the place to check it out. Cool atmosphere & seemingly fun games. After about 10 minutes, we went to the bar to get our food. The bartender told us âI donât know what goes on in the kitchenâ & walked awayđ I felt like I was being punked! A few minutes later she went back to check on food and told us they forgot to make them but are making them now so will be a few minutes.. we eventually got our gutterballs and left. Iâd give it another go if someone invited me, but I wouldnât say...
