This place is normally a high 4 for us on food. But it seems to keep going down hill since they have messed up one of our order everytime wether it be an online order or in the restaurant. They donât know what has gluten and dairy in and and the last time I ordered my flautas I asked if they were gluten free and dairy free and became sick. I called back to ask about it the lady told me there isnât a lot of dairy in them and doesnât bother people but they come prefrozen that way so they canât take it out. Like me not having an allergic reaction right Infront of them doesnât count, they would have to see it happen. Yesterday I ordered the only thing I really can now, Fajitas, since everything else comes premade and frozen with dairy involved. I asked for no dairy of any kind and no gluten. The waiter repeated it back to me. When my order arrives it had cheese on the beans and the corn tortillas looked to be flour. I asked the waiter and he said yes they were flour and got me new beans without cheese and new corn tortillas. I still had a raction to the food I ate so Iâm guessing there was something hidden in my food yet again that I wasnât aware of. Itâs so very frustrating that a simple request from the beginning is blown off so easily. If some one asked for fish and got chicken it would be addressed and more so from the beginning of the order there probably wouldnât be a mix up. If you asked for a coke and got tea you would be upset if it was a constant occurrence. It happens constantly to the point where they act like they donât know whatâs on the menu and roll their eyes when itâs requested not to have it. Looks like we will have to try some other places when we feel like Mexican food. Not to mention the atmosphere is so very loud in there with a drunk and belligerent table that a lot of the staff kept hanging out around assuming it was friends or coworkers of theirs. Just odd to see 6-8 employees at a table of drunk girls when cups are sitting empty on the edge of the tables waiting to be filled. Our waiter was nice and attentive and brought me new beans and corn tortillas, just sucks that Iâve been sick from eating there...
Read moreSlippery greasy floors for one; there were carpets down, but were so saturated with grease even they were slippery. We didnât expect much coming from San Antonio where we have excellent authentic Mexican, modern Latin and great TexMex food, but this is even worse than the worst ATX restaurant. The Spanish rice, as well as the chicken seasoning is just... weird, youâre missing comino, and the chicken itself was cut way too large for enchiladas; it needs shredding to mix well with other ingredients. I shouldnât have to cut and mix the filling myself to get a proper bite. A âburritoâ at our table had similar issues. The jalapeĂąo cream sauce was gritty; seriously, learn to make a roux! I also have no idea why there was a dollop if raw cornbread dough on my salad either. The only good things I have to say are that the chips are good and basic salsa had great flavor (albeit with more cilantro flavor than the cilantro rice that was overpowered with lime), however it didnât have enough heat. Yet the hotter salsa had way to much bottled chili powder in it. Seriously overpriced for this and I have no idea why there are such high reviews unless people had a few too many margaritas lol we didnât bother trying them as good margaritas are harder to find the further away from...
Read moreHostess was incredibly rude, didnât even acknowledge us when we walked in, and then seemed to be put out that she had to seat us. First table: tabletop was filthy and something sticky was running down the side of the seat. We of course asked to be moved ... she didnât even look up, just rolled her eyes and talked Into her microphone She then asked where do you want to sit (as hateful as possible) I said, can we sit over there?â Of course that was met with more Eye rolling and hateful tone... Second table: also dirty ... but LESS dirty ! The floor was so slick with what I Can Only presume was grease that my chair was sliding around, like a car on ice ! Flagged down a polite waitress (I wish Iâd have gotten her name as she was the only polite employee I spoke to during my short stay) she moved us to another table and apologized.. by this point I was afraid If the dining room that everyone sees was this dirty with chips littering the ENTIRE floor, sticky seats, and unclean tables .. WHAT DOES THE KITCHEN LOOK LIKE? We didnât stick around to even try the food!
Surprise surprise, as we walked out, the hostess didnât even glance in our direction ...
I will NEVER step foot in Josè...
