I don’t get it. Was super I excited to finally try Brother John’s after living in Bend for a year and meh… Service was standard Bend. Tap list small and mostly local. Food was uninspiring at best. Of course we didn’t sample the whole menu but the chicken wings were rubbery and it took work to eat them so they weren’t enjoyable. I can usually mow through a dozen but left half on my plate cause they just weren’t good. Tortilla soup was more chewy chicken in some sauce that lacked any depth. Kids food also was left mostly untouched by our three ravenous little humans. Had to feed them again when we got home.

The worse part…. This place is “NOISY”. Not sure what the story is with the acoustics or if we missed the shouting competition event notification, but we were very happy to escape. Maybe just our particular seating position?

I love to support local businesses but just won’t be back here, unless there is another shouting competition with decent prizes and my throat has healed from the last visit. Maybe hang something in the walls?

If you can get a seat outside and want a few drinks and a pretzel with friends then maybe this is your place. I’ve been to more pubs around the world than maybe I should admit but Brother Johns didn’t feel so much like a Pub other than...

This was my first trip to Bend and I started for looking for an original "Bend" spot and was going to hit the Deschutes Brewery, but parking within blocks was a pain. A friend said, check out 10 Barrel, so I had to roll around the block and spotted a Bend spot. Brother Jon's looked like just the place for the original Bend experience. DO NOT MISS BROTHER JON'S! The staff...welcoming, attentive, and helpful with suggestions. Jack Sparrow Sandwich was meaty with a little pineapple to keep it juicy, but not messy. Handcut fries with BOMB Sauce (B.S.) perfect together and get a side of B.S. to dip Jack Sparrow in for a bit of a kick. Beer was good, Margaritas were better! Fresh pressed juice for the Margaritas was awesome! I had to go back to try something else, it was going to be a burger, but opted for the Cajun Chicken and Sausage over penne. This dish, as it should have been, was spicy, I like sauce and it could have used a bit more with a side of bread, but hey, I'd order it again in a second! Lastly, bc I was sitting at the bar I had a great vantage point to watch the crew work and they worked together well, smooth operation. Props to servers 1st trip James, 2nd trip...

The place is clean, has indoor and outdoor seating, and plays good music. I was here with my two year old and another friend and two year old. The server was nice enough, but only listened to half of our order requests and then barely came by. I ordered a Mac and cheese and a steak salad. There are two sizes of steak salad, so I asked for a small and with the steak on the side. I received a large ($4 more) and the steak on the salad. The Mac and cheese was lukewarm at best and the macaroni was parboiled. It really should have been heated in the oven in my opinion. It wasn’t even hot enough to melt the flakes of Parmesan on top. Maybe this is what is intended because when I told her it was cold, she brought be a new one that was fresh and it was still barely warm. The milk I got for my kid had ice in it. We did grab crayons once I noticed them, but these would have been a nice offer. The salad were generally good and the ranch dressing was delicious. Overall though it was kid of a mediocre experience. Perhaps I just had higher expectations given the location and...

I came in around 9 at night and was excited to try the "Best Mac and cheese in Bend", and I was very happy with everything. I'm glad I ordered the buffalo Mac and the tots which came with 5 good dipping sauces including the extra sriracha. I ate more than I intended, but everything was so tasty! The service from Nicole was even more impressive, kind, personable, fun, and always smiling! She offered a free cider sample to help me decide (without me asking), and for my birthday brought out a fantastic brownie sunday with heaps of whipped cream, ice cream, chocolate and carmel sauce... It could have fed 4 people!! And since it was my birthday I actually got the Sunday for free!! I'm excited to come back already, and since they are open until 10 every night, I will come here again and again! Thanks again Nicole, you've earned a customer for life - you and the restaurant deserve 6 stars!
