We've heard a lot about this place, but we were extremely disappointed. You have to pay and order at the register. Then, you're told to go ''over there'' at which point while paying, you get asked for a tip by the register. Okay I thought. Maybe the food is good. NOPE! It was AT BEST, the same thing you can get from walmart. We had the crispy spicy chicken with kimchi and nachos.
First the Chicken was extremely chewy. Not crispy at all. The kimchi was... kimchi. The mint lemonade was good for the drink but the drinks were about all that was good.
The nachos came with some kind of sauce on them topped with a ton of lettuce and one egg. By the time it got to us, the nachos were soft and who wants to eat a salad when you order nachos. Especially when placed on top.
To top it all off the places were roughly 22 dollars each and were extremely small. We're talking about 5 pieces of small chicken bites with an extremely small portion of kimchi. Same with the nachos. The plate was so small that it was a mess with the egg on top of the salad on top of the nachos.
We did not bother finishing the food and left. I'm not sure how this place is still in business but the experience wasnt good. It was also extremely cold inside. I would've rather eaten outside and it was only 50 degrees that day.
The only nice part was the waiter that asked us if we wanted to go boxes. Other than that, we will not be back.
Edit: WOW read the response to my review. Amazing. Way to take responsibility instead of putting the blame on the customer. This is exactly what I'm talking about. This eatery has gone down hill.
How about this guys. It's your responsibility to not be a below average eatery. Obviously I have been to this place before with better experiences, your current service isn't worth it. And that is the general consensus in this area.
Saying you don't serce ''nachos''. Well then whatever you call them. You can call them chips or crisp. Whatever you want to call them. You DO serve them. The chicken was THE SPICY FRIED CHICKEN ON YOUR MENU. Which is indeed CRISPY.
Why would you even respond to a post like that? It only makes your...
Read moreRegrettable: I was excited to try this restaurant based on reviews. The actual experience was one that I wish I could forget and had not happened.
When I arrived, there was a massive line of people moving very slowly and tables totally empty. It was a chaotic feel, not a fun vibe. The servers sporadically offered to sell drinks into the line while people were waiting and prep people for a quick order by providing menus while they waited. We waited about 20-25 minutes to order and were warned by the "host" that we would be waiting another 30 minutes for our food once we ordered. All of this I was willing to take in stride for a great meal. For sure, the service was “indifferent “ and far from welcoming.
When ordering, it was both pressured and rushed with relatively high prices for a counter-service restaurant. For 3 people (and only one beer for one person) our bill with tip was over $30 per person for a main dish + side dish + tip. We were given a high-top shared table despite many better tables being available but again - willing to take it in stride for what was expected to be great food.
The food was not good. We ordered the "Dan Dan Noodles" and they had an extremely high amount of chili oil spicy oil on the dish. They were incredibly spicy and we could only eat about 25% of them and threw out the rest (sadly, two of us ordered this). A potato dish that was intended for a vegan was topped with egg-based mayonnaise and in general, you didn't know what a dish would really be - until you got it. If you could handle the very high spice level of the noodles (I saw no warning or indication of "very spicy" on the menu) -- the ratio of meat to noodles was about 5% / 95%, eg minimal meat added.
In summary, the entire experience was a negative one and a huge disappointment based on other reviews. I would caution you that there are more positive experiences and tastier food you can easily find in Bend. I love "eclectic food" but this just was not good.

Read moreI recently dined at Spork, and I must say, it was an exceptional culinary experience. As someone who follows a gluten-free diet, I was delighted to find a restaurant that not only caters to dietary restrictions but also delivers on taste and creativity!
The menu features a tantalizing array of Asian fusion dishes, nearly all of which are gluten-free. The standard menu and specials menu showcased a perfect balance of flavors and textures.
One dish that stood out was the gluten-free fried chicken. It was beautifully presented and bursting with fresh ingredients. The combination of flavors was truly delightful, and the fact that it was gluten-free and served in a restaurant added an extra layer of authenticity to the experience (I’ve been gf for almost a decade and have never had gf fried chicken outside my own kitchen).
Another highlight was the furikake potatoes, which were expertly prepared with a medley of spices. The chefs at Spork clearly understand how to harmonize Asian flavors while ensuring gluten-free integrity.
The ambiance of the restaurant was also noteworthy, with a modern yet cozy atmosphere that enhanced the dining experience. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable about gluten-free options, which added to the overall positive impression.
I also had the matcha flan and the curry. Between the two, I was glutened somewhere in between. I ate these the following day so I’m sure it wasn’t the fried chicken or potatoes. Both were delicious, but I wasn’t a fan of the stomach pains or the manner in which the cashier handled the toppings for the flan with her bare, ungloved hands.
In conclusion, Spork is a haven for gluten-free diners seeking flavorful Asian fusion cuisine. Whether you're on a gluten-free diet or simply looking to explore new culinary delights, this restaurant is sure to impress with its delicious offerings and hip service.
Highly recommended for a memorable...
