Taco Del Mar / Catering — Restaurant in Bend

It’s been years and now I know why. I incorrectly chose this place for lunch. HOLY HELL WHAT HAPPENED! I gave the service reps 2 stars because they don’t deserve for the cheap franchise owner to cowardly hide behind the scenes and them take the blame for garbage being served at a premium price. Ordered 3 tacos and a chips n queso. They pull a shell from a stack of what looks to be old el paso processed store bought shells. They throw a speck of barely any meat and taco fillings but somehow couldn’t fill it up like a regular taco for me. Just sprinkles and dustings of ingredients. Is this place going out of business? I get better tacos from Taco Bell for half the price. As for the chips I got a measly handful of crumbs and a small ration of what resembled 7/11 canned yellow #5 cheese. Up to this point against my own judgment I was fine paying $4.50 for a crappy 1/2 taco. They started up charging with no warning $1 per taco because I picked steak/shredded beef/chicken. I asked if they could fill up the tacos at least and they said sorry no. Unbelievable……don’t do it!...

Tonight 6/26 @7:45pm we came in to order. There were two gals behind the counter already putting food away. Both seemed irritated by our presence. We sat down to eat and they proceeded with closing duties, that included mopping and emptying the trash. The chemical smell was bad and it made me sick… then we went to throw away our trash and as the gal had just emptied the garbage can she got upset that we put our trash in the bin. She proceeded to toss the garbage can and grabbed gloves to grab our garbage out of the bin. In the way of the door was the mop, broom, and an open cabinet door that we had to close to leave. Many safety concerns with this situation. You don’t close until 8:30. I get the need to clean but does it need to be done while customers are still present? Also, don’t get upset when we need to toss out our garbage. We come often and this was definitely not a...

What happened to this place? We used to eat here all the time years ago and decided to have it tonight. The taco shells taste like dirty oil over fried, not edible. They used to be lightly sweet not over cooked. The cleanliness has gone way down. I was scared if we would be sick after eating there. Why is the food not covered? I wonder how long everything sat there before I showed up. Really not impressed. Really sad this place has fallen. I will repost if we do get sick. Most of the food is going in the trash wasted $25. I'd rather eat at Subway over this place. That says a lot but at least they have lids over their food when they don't...
