I went to Joe’s Italian with a group of friends for the first time and there were several things that happened that I tried to dismiss but ultimately was unable to. When we were first seated our drink orders were not taken, after a few short minutes of looking at the menu the waiter came to take our order but didn’t take drink orders and we were not ready to order our entrees. I ordered the fried calamari and mozzarella sticks which were subpar to say the least. Once the waiter returned to take our orders for entrees we had to then ask for drinks.
I ordered the lobster and shrimp ravioli with a Caesar salad. The salad I received was watered down and did not taste good at all. On top of that our table was not cleared when they brought out entrees and we had to gesture for the plates from the appetizers and salads we had to be removed. We received our food and everyone was satisfied with their entrees until I found a hair in my food.
Once the waiter returned to our table to ask if we needed to go boxes, alerted the waiter to which I was met with an semi blank stare and just an okay and that he would get the boxes for everyone else at the table.
At that point I could tell that 3 of the staff were having conversations about our table as they looked at us and then started talking amongst themselves. I felt very uneasy and also sick to my stomach due to finding hair in my food. Granted I had already eaten half of the Lobster and Shrimp ravioli. I removed myself from the table and gave my friend my card to pay for at least half as I assumed that there would be some compensation after finding the hair, and I stepped outside for some fresh air. Once my friends paid and came to find me I was told that no one apologized and when he asked if I could get at-least half off since I did eat half the meal before discovering a hair under a ravioli that I still had to pay full price for the meal. It was enough of an experience for me to determine that I will not be visiting again and was very disappointed with the food , service, and the unwillingness to work with paying patrons after finding hair...
Read moreI typically don’t leave a lot of reviews but dining here with my group of friends made me want to after leaving. To begin, we were sat down and given a menu but our drink order wasn’t taken. Then when the waitress came to take our order she proceeded to correct everyone on their pronunciation of the food even though she spoke in broken English. When we finished giving our order, we asked for an entrée of calamari and drinks which was completely ignored as she didn’t write anything down. We then had to try and get her attention for our drinks and when eventually getting her to stop, she demanded that we give her two minutes and proceed to just give us water and walk away. Frustrated, we tried moving past it but then we were completely ignored by their horrible waitress. So we proceeded to stop her one more time and let her know that we will pay for salad and cold bread and just leave because the service was so terrible. She then proceeded to make a scene and complained to a younger waitress who begrudgingly talked to us about our service. We explained that it wasn’t her fault, that her coworker has a horrible attitude and was the main reason for the leave. They proceeded to use this young waitress as a middle party to talk us into staying even attempting to bring out our food but the point was missed. This location, IS NOT, in any means necessary, like the Springdale location and has put a massive amount of disrespect to the Joes Italian franchise. If you were to judge off one review wether or not you should come here, it’s this one. The food is simply okay but the kicker is how this business will treat you once they sit you. You’ve...
Read moreThe food was good and arrived promptly, however I'm reasonably certain I didn't actually get what I ordered. I ordered eggplant rollatini, which every other place I have had it and every recipe I can find is thinly sliced eggplant (usually with a breadcrumb coating) wrapped around a ricotta cheese filling. What I got was battered eggplant slices flat on pasta smothered in melted cheese and marinara. I think it was actually eggplant parmesan but when I asked the waiter what I had received I was told it was rollatini. When I asked what the difference is for future reference (there was no description on the menu), I got an extremely confusing and garbled explanation that included that eggplant parmesan had meat in it but not cheese, eggplant rollatini had the cheese but was rolled, etc. In addition, we were dining with our young son and we were initially seated at an elevated booth - I asked if it would work with the high chair and was told yes (they hadn't brought the high chair yet). Yes, if I want my son's face to be below the level of the table and in prime location for him to smack his forehead on the edge of the table. I asked to be moved to a different table that would work with the high chair. Then, all 3 of the high chairs had broken clips so they could not be adjusted - we tried knotting the strap so we could use it but ended up just holding him while we ate. Food was good, but service was not exactly great for families with a kid in a high chair or anyone with dietary restrictions since they couldn't actually tell me what...
