So, my wife and I were in Bentonville on vacation from the Austin, TX area. Out friends we were visiting brought us by this place for lunch.
Now, let me say that whatever you call this.....Greek.....Mediterranean.....whatever, it is not really my thing usually. But I gave in because my wife loves this food.
I could not have been more pleasantly surprised! First off, the girl at the counter who took our order was very polite, friendly, and welcoming. My wife got the soup and salad combo, and I ordered the grilled lamb gyro with cucumber and tomato salad as my side.
We got our drinks and sat at our table to wait for our food to be brought out. It is worth mentioning that they have the wonderful "soft" ice pellets at their drink station, and really tasty sweet tea.
Our food arrived promptly, and it looked and smelled good. I tasted my wife's lemon chicken soup and immediately wished I had ordered it. My gyro had the little side of cucumber, tomato, onion, and feta salad with it, as well as a helping of potato chips. All of the vegetables on both our orders looked fresh and delicious. My gyro was very, very good. Not your typical meat sliced from a rotisserie, but actual small pieces of grilled lamb meat. The real standout was the cucumber and tomato salad, though. SO tasty!
Not long after we finished eating and sat conversing at our table, a very polite and attentive table busser stopped by and asked if she could clear our table for us. She made friendly conversation with us as she took our dishes, then thanked us and moved to her next table.
All in all, I was super impressed with this experience. The people were friendly, the food was VERY fresh looking and tasting, and it was a good value for the money in my opinion. I would recommend stopping in even if you aren't 100% into this type of cuisine, as you just might be...
Read moreMy husband and I are both military veterans and have been given the generous 25 percent military discount off our orders for the last 3 years. Tonight, 11/18/2021, the associate asked for proof of service. I don’t carry all my military paperwork with me showing our 8 years of service. I offered that my bank card is from a military bank. He refused to honor the military discount even though we have been using it here for over 3 years and did bring in paperwork 3 years ago. We served our country honorably for 8 years and Taziki’s has always honored our word since we showed the initial paperwork. I am pretty surprised that after all these years of honoring the military he decided to not honor the discount. Also it’s not feasible for me to drive the 30 minutes home and get my military folder and show him by DD214 showing my active duty Army service. Very disappointed in Taziki’s and the cavalier attitude of the associate who really didn’t care at all about our past relationship with Taziki’s, as in we are customers 2x a week...
Read moreMy family and I normally have no issues and really enjoy the food and the service from tazikis. This incident today has really soured my mood towards the Bentonville location. We live almost 20 minutes away from this location and didn't check our food until we got home to find that it was the wrong order. Which at first wasn't a big deal, I work in food service, I get it. However, after going back for the right food and getting all the way home only to find it was wrong yet again, we called back for the second time. The manager's response was extremely rude. She made the while situation out to sound like I was only in it for a refund with free food, when in actuality I was very frustrated with this being the second occasion (there was a pervious time before this as well) that they had messed up my order and the manager response was not even remotely sufficient. Like I said before, great food and normally love the staffing, but these past two times having to talk with the manager has taken some of...
