The Cap'ns Slice — Restaurant in Berlin

The smell is what led me off of Main Street. Basil, Parsley, Rosemary oh my! Fresh herbs growing inside and out. All I wanted was a drink, I stared, stared, and stared at the pizza. Thinking I'm for NYC where Brooklyn and Queens pizza are world class. The crust was golden brown, the ingredients topping the pizza were all carmelized. I eat with my eyes first. I wondered how it tasted and I went for it. A slice of Lou Albano. I dont have a simple palette and quality ingredients is what makes a good pizza, not where it's made. I had a casual talk with the Pizza Man Yancy and the happy go lucky young man working the counter, eager to help. I took ask for it to go, just put it on a pay-pa plate! (try using your best NYC accent) Moments later, hot slice in my hand. I fold my slice and it spoke to me a nice crack with no flop. First you get the crunch, followed by a subtle sweetness, from house made San Marzano tomato sauce, fresh basil, crumbled sausage, and blistered tricolor bell peppers. My husband and I stopped in here on a whim before sour fest in Berlin and we are SO happy that we did. We have tried many pizza joints in our 40+ years on this planet, many up and down the east coast due to his service in the military. This pizza is sure to give anyone whose palate appreciates exceptional flavor an experience they'll never forget and I mean that. Don't let A ☆star review steer you away from the greatness known as Cap'ns Slice. Kudos to the owner for taking a risk and opening up a one of a kind pizza shop during the pandemic. We see you and appreciate you, wholeheartedly.

We already loved Berlin and used it as our stopping point every time we visit friends up north but now we have another reason to be excited to stop. Tried their pizza heading up north on a Friday and it was incredible. It was so good that we were legitimately pumped to drive home on Sunday to stop and get it again. My 7 year old daughter was treated like an adult and at the same time, they knew what kids get excited about (cool stickers.) We tried the cheese, pepperoni, and a special pesto slice…all were incredible. Great attention to detail on the ingredients. Myself and my daughter both couldn’t get over the quality. Vibe is great too…excellent customer service by the three gentlemen working there (including a teenager who had a really good way about him…you can tell the management treats the team with respect in the way they all get along and represent the business.)
