I've had three experiences with Marcos and all three have been at the McCalla location.
1st experience was opening week.We ordered a couple large pizzas. Pizza was a bit dry and lacked much flavor. It was opening weekend so I'll give them that, things definitely happen when you're just opening.
2nd experience was on 7/5/19. The wife, daughter, and I went to dine in and ordered one 3 topping medium pizza. The pizza took about 45 minutes and I had to go to the register twice to ask. It was at 2pm and we were the only people in there other than the two carryout orders. (We asked one girl if she called ahead) Turned out the person making our pizza kept putting green peppers instead of green olives and they had to re-make it three times. The poor girl making it had to come to our table and apologize. All is forgiven, that stuff happens I guess. The end result after 45 minutes was another very dry and bland pizza. Definitely not worth the $19 we would have paid for it and 2 drinks had not Marco's refunded our money. They also said the next pizza was on them.
3rd experience was on 7/9/19 when we used our free pizza. We got one medium hand tossed pepperoni and one medium thin crust extra cheese. Came out to being $13 and change and they said we had a $16 credit. The pizza we got this time was actually flavorful and the crust was crisp but not dry and burnt. A much better experience.
In all I would say if every pizza was like the 7/9/19 pizza then they would still be just average at best. Everything I've had so far is worse or not any better than the $7.99 large Domino's pizza I can get just an exit away and it's more expensive than Domino's.
This is just my honest opinion. I love new businesses in our area and I hope Marco's continues to improve...
Read moreThis is an update to a previous recommendation I gave. I generally enjoy the pizza, but curbside was interestingly not much better than service you'd get at McDonalds or Walmart.
What I mean by that, is the person running orders turned her nose up at me, didn't acknowledge me. I had prepaid for my order AND prepaid a tip too!
Yet, she passed right by me, ignoring me 3 times, after I had a message saying our house's order was ready (7:45pm Friday). So, I stood there, and we ended up getting home late enough to need a microwave.
After the third time your employee passed by me, Lauren jumped in my car, puts the car in an unavoidable location....and only then the order runner walks past me and asks "what do you need?" and then Lauren points me out, saying that I'm with her.
As for the park and putting in your vehicle description feature..... that doesn't work, AT ALL.
I understand, COVID and all that, understaffing, or whatever... That doesn't mean you have to lower the standard that I know Marcos had, at least going into this situation.
I don't expect VIP treatment. I don't expect a silver platter. But at LEAST don't act with contempt toward someone you've NEVER met face-to-face, and who was politely waiting to be addressed instead of going and pulling the door open like another guy did 40 or so minutes before us (yep we were there that long).
Just because someone else might've misbehaved, doesn't mean you punish/ignore...
Read moreTried to order a pizza for delivery and was told I was out of the delivery range. I literally live 2 mins from the restaurant but couldn't leave my house at the moment to pick up the pizza myself.
I'm not sure what's going on over there. I like to order from them because it's close. But my last couple of orders haven't been as good. It seems like they're just giving me left over pizza. So today I decided to make a custom order with flavored crust a a few extra things to make sure that they would give me a fresh pizza. I know this is long so bare with me. It was supposed to have 2 types of pepperoni, double garlic crust flavor and triple romaon

It seems like this place just keeps going down hill, I'm not sure what's going on over there. And honestly I would have been stopped messing with the place if it wasn't as close as it is. I literally order a pizza around 5pm today and it's 7:05pm now and the app is saying it's still being prepared. And lately it's 50/50 if it'll be made correctly or cold. I actually just tried calling because who has time to wait this longer for food. I was just going to cook something myself but when I called in to cancel the order they pretty much just left me on hold for almost 10mins. This is very unacceptable, Marcos used to be my favorite pizza spot and I was so excited when I found out one would be so close to my house but this location has pretty much...
