McAlister's Deli — Restaurant in Bessemer

This is the second time I have gone and it will be the last. I have just returned to a disappointing meal. I ordered the deli ham sandwich and online and had prepay and said to be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived after the twenty minutes and waited. No one came out to where i was parked at the curb side. another person had showed and there order was taken and i still had been ignored. twenty minutes passed(20 minutes after time should be ready) and i went up to worker on their smoke break. they were extremely helpful and grabbed the manager. the manager arrived and had told me it was my fault and i needed to go inside. the website had never notified that and even worse is the take out worker did not even bother to come out and help. how would they know if i was curb side or not if they never asked? and i was the only one in the curb side area to make it even worse. than when the manager came out he insisted on running my card after i had already paid! i showed him my receipt on my phone and than he went on like he knew about it. i went home to eat the sandwich and found a hair in it that was definitely not mine. food was obviously soggy at that point too and the only person that put effort into anything was a guy on break.

We have dined at this location frequently. However our latest visit may be our last. It was not particularity crowed for a friday evening. When we walked in there appeared to be general confusion and no orders being taken. Some staff was off to the side with a couple with some kind of issue. The only open order position was not available as the person taking orders said they were waiting on a manager. We stood for several minutes with nothing happening. A second couple ahead of us was also apparently having an issue of some kind. We finally ordered a salad and a sandwich. 20 minutes passed and nothing. The couple behind us had already been served. Then a security person came in and stood at the front. I went and asked about our order and was told there was new kitchen staff and they did not know what they were doing. I was then told the manager had left to go call the owner. The salad arrived, but the sandwich did not. There was no silverware and we were told they had run out of forks. I was given plastic utensils. The sandwich arrived and so did another security person. The staff was talking to security and each other. This was the most disorganized place I have ever seen and the nervous breakdown music was blaring at 130db! They need some serious intervention. We will...

Very disappointed in my experience here. I was allowed to sit out in the car for over 30 minutes waiting on my food only to have to come in and get it myself. Lady behind the counter was extremely rude and hateful acting as if I was an inconvenience in her day. She said I was impatient and I showed her the receipt where I had placed the order for the sandwich 45 minutes previous she just said something nasty into her breath and walked off. When I opened up both sandwiches they were not prepared as we had ordered them and had been sitting for what look like the entire 45 minutes. The bread was so soggy I couldn't even pick it up. Parts of my order were missing and they forgot the drinks. After the way we were treated we just gave up and cut it as a loss and went home. We usually have wonderful service here possibly it was just an off night for the employee that was assisting us.
