Major Disappointment!!! We received a comp dinner from the Sands Casino for Emeril's Chophouse, so take that into consideration while reading this.I have been to a few higher end restaurants and even before I received the comp from the casino I was planning on taking my husband to the chop-house for a nice dry aged Steak. I am very glad I didn't. This first issue was my fault not theirs. I have certain diet issues and when I called the Sands about the comp dinner I should have asked if there was a special menu for the dinner. I didn't and it was very limited. With the comp you got to choose a first course, a second course and desert plus tax and tip along with an alcoholic beverage, were included. Alas I could not eat anything from the first menu, the second was iffy and there wasn't really anything exciting on the desert menu but my dirty martini was great. My husband picked shrimp and grits on the first menu, a steak on the second and NO DRINK. We will get back to my food later... Ok the design of the room was nice but there are issues. For one the tables for two were long and skinny. It felt like one of those old movies where the two people sit at the end of a very long table. It was not romantic at all. And the room was loud. The room was not sound proofed at all. You couldn't hear each other because we were not near each other. So when we tried to talk to each other we had to raise our voices. It seemed as if we were shouting. On top of that the other tables were very close to us, so they could hear everything we "shouted" to each other. So I couldn't order off the first menu and had to ask for the regular menu a couple of times so I could order something which I knew, and stated to the waiter, I would pay for anything I ordered off the comp menu. When I did finally get the menu and ordered my appetizer they snatched the menu back. So for the second course I just asked for the same steak that my husband got. He wanted his medium well and I wanted mine rare. When I cut into my steak it was rare just as I asked but when I looked up to my husbands steak, his was rare too. He was attempting to still eat it. I called the waiter and explained that my husband wanted his steak cooked med-well and asked the waiter to correct the issue. It took them just a few minutes to return the steak and the edges burnt and well done. Of course they had not made him a new steak, but only re-cooked the old one. Later he told me it was not good. How could it be? Anyone who cooks, knows that a cooked steak that has cooled will only toughen when re-cooked unless done properly. My main course was steak, mashed potatoes and asparagus. The mashed potatoes cafeteria style quality, the asparagus were huge and woody and the steak was good but not what you would expect from a high-end restaurant. They did give us three sauces to try along with a biscuit and dinner roll. The sauces were great. The biscuit was cold but good. The roll was tough, cold and tasteless. We did get butter but what for was beyond me since neither roll or biscuit would melt it. I ate a few bites of my dinner and waited until my husband finished eating. When the waiter came to take our plates he asked me if I wanted it wrapped to take home. I told him no. Then he asked how my dinner was, I told him it was adequate. He said how was it, I repeated adequate. He looked shocked and asked again, and I said it was fine just fine. Then they asked us for our dessert order. To be honest at this point I was so disappointed with the restaurant that I didn't want to eat desert. So we didn't order any. I asked for my bill and they decided that they would exchange the appetizer I ordered for the one on the comp menu. Perhaps the management considers the comp dinners below their standards and they do not waste their time making a meal up to their normal standards or this is the quality of the food they make. But consider this, they should be judged on how they treat the least of their customers, not the greatest. So I do not recommend this restaurant. Even...
Read moreMy sister and I rarely get to see each other so for her visit over a long weekend we made reservations at Emeril’s Fish House in order to celebrate, and since it was my husband’s birthday we brought him along as well. The server acted as though he could not wait for us to leave from the minute we sat down. He rushed every aspect of our meal. He was absolutely no help when we were trying to decide what to order and instead of giving us advice he just kept acting very obviously annoyed when we would say we needs another minute and walking away briskly. I mean, if someone is taking the time, paying a babysitter and coming to your very overpriced establishment, don’t you think you could humor them with a minute or two to help figure what on the menu they would enjoy the most. Then when the glass of Chardonnay my sister ordered tasted like a weak Pinot Grigio or table wine she sent it back and asked for a Beaujolais instead...but he charged her for the essentially untouched “Chardonnay” anyway. When my husband finished his entree, Emeril’s Fish Stew, which took about 4 minutes because all it consisted of was a thin not very tasty broth with a couple of shrimp, 2-4 muscles and a few bite sized pieces of cod (which was both in the fish tacos that night and featured as the special, obviousness they just needed to get rid of some cod), the server came and took his plate away immediately while we were still eating. Then when we did finish (my filet was very good but my sister’s strip steak was overcooked), he whisked our plates away before she could tell him to wrap the half of her 12oz that she had not yet eaten (she wanted to take it home and dress it up a bit). Well he never asked if she wanted to take it home nor did they bring it to her they just took her plate! I feel like she should only have to pay half the price...paying 34$ for a 12oz that you only get to eat 6oz of is not right! Now for some reason, when we first arrived, the waiter asked if we were celebrating anything and I exclaimed that it was my husbands birthday. Why did he ask? It was never mentioned again, there was no birthday attention given to him, not that we would have wanted waiters singing or anything silly like that but it just seemed odd to even ask if you don’t intent to actually be nice or try to make a celebration feel special. It was a complete waste of the $200 we had to spend on the food and the babysitter and we will never go to an Emeril restaurant again, what a...
Read moreFirst off I own a restaurant evaluation and optimization company. I've dined here before and my experience was always pleasant. However tonight my wife and I dined here and had one of the worst experiences ever. The manager was so gracious and welcoming. We were sat at table 45. Reservation was at 6:30 we arrived at 6:25. Our server was Regina and Aliza. Aliza was quite pleasant. I believe Aliza was Regina's server assistant. We ordered drinks and waited until 6:47 when Regina came back to take our order. That's right 22 minutes to take our order. The restaurant was not busy or full. She walked past us so many times. We felt that we were intentionally being avoided. I gestured to her and she approached our table with a smirk and a frown. We waited patiently. We ordered apps and entrees. Lobster bisque and Caesar salad filet mignon and salmon. The bisque was room temp but tasty The salmon ordered medium rare was overdone but the risotto was not good and it had tomatoes and slivered onions just thrown about. I still had a full bowl of soup and our Caesar was not even half eaten when the kitchen ran our food to our table. As a former restaurant manager and server I know that Regina "fired" our entrees. I don't know why she did but the vibe was bad from when we sat down. Poor Aliza. She ran our food and asked if we wanted to return it and put it under the heat lamps. We accepted our entrees and the table was so crowded with 4 plates and a bread basket. Not one time, not even once did Regina ask how the apps were or if our food was good or if they cooked the steak or salmon to our liking. Eventually after walking past us a dozen or more times she asked if we needed boxes. Chop House this is ridiculous. Not a smile, not a two bite check to see how the food was, not even a courtesy. My wife sat with an empty iced tea glass the entire meal. Nothing against our server but we felt bad our entire visit. We spend tens of thousands of dollars each year dining out. We also tip 25% sometimes as much as 50%. We WILL not be going back to the Chop House...
